Omg... I have teary eyes... I woke up and found out I had received this video from my beloved vet (He is the most beautiful old man, looks like a salt and pepper Santa... I always tell him he is my "impossible love" and he laughs soooo hard... I also tell him he has to live 200 years, because I don't want anyone else to take care of my babies, and yes, he laughs at that, too
)... Anyway, I read a few days ago a thread that said something about posting music that reminded of your parents... Well, this reminds me of my parents, my childhood, my fellow Venezuelans and the deep love for this blessed land... This is a cover of one of the most loved and iconic Venezuelan bands... "Billo's Caracas Boys"... I really have goosebumps or whatever their name is... I LOVE you, Venezuela!... With every single bit of this heart of mine... Thank you, God, for letting me be born as a daughter of the most beautiful place on earth, full of the most beautiful, happy, warm people in this world... I LOVE YOU, Venezuela!...
I send here some Christmas songs from Hungary by Szélkiáltó band, inspired on Hungarian folk songs:
I have no idea what they are saying...
I had no reason to question why Guns N' Roses covered music from other artists. I've always hear the original composer gets 50% of the royalties. I blogged about this before as music of the 50's often were covered many times by lots of no-name artists looking for exposure.
It was just a boost as we already know guns N' Roses. Last year, I heard on my local classic rock station they were asked by Dylan to record the song as he was broke and needed some royalty money.
Last week, it was reported Bob Dylan sold his song catalog to Universal Media Group to an undisclosed amount. People on the grapevine are saying it's around $300 million.
Earlier this year I purchased a 2020 model car. A few days ago while going through CD's I decided to bring one along and play it while on the way to work.
Small problem... the car doesn't have a CD player!
It does have a USB port and will play MP3's. As a plus, it will play videos on the 7" display as long as the car is in park. When shifted out of park the video closes and only music can be heard.
The next step is using Windows Media Player and rip the music to the hard drive then download to a memory stick. Doing so captures the album, artist and song title on the list.
I've been able to put a bunch of CD's on to one stick which is more convenient that having CD cases in the car!
Modern solution to an old problem.
Wolfgang Van Halen is in the news this week. He's released a video song/video tribute for his dad Eddie Van Halen who died in October this year. His band is called Mammoth WVH and the song is called Distance.
It's reported Wolfgang played all the parts on the recording.

Whitney Elizabeth Houston (August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012) was an American singer and actress. She was certified as the most awarded female artist of all time by Guinness World Records and is one of the best-selling recording artists of all time, with sales of over 200 million records worldwide. Houston released seven studio albums and two soundtrack albums, all of which have been certified diamond, multi-platinum, platinum, or gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). She is regarded as one of the greatest artists of all time. Her crossover appeal on the popular music charts as well as her prominence on MTV influenced several African-American female artists.
Houston began singing in church as a child and became a background vocalist while in high school. With the guidance of Arista Records chairman Clive Davis, she signed to the label at age 19. Her first two studio albums, Whitney Houston (1985) and Whitney (1987), both peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 and are among the best-selling albums of all time. She is the only artist to have seven consecutive number-one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, from "Saving All My Love for You" in 1985 to "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" in 1988.

One of the most lauded and beloved vocalists of all time, Whitney Houston was a once-in-a-generation vocal talent who left behind an imposing, enduring catalog despite passing away all too soon in 2012 at age 48 of an accidental drowning. With 11 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and 23 top 10s on that chart, Houston's songs and stylings impacted everything from pop to R&B to dance to gospel – not to mention the world of film, where her acting and music propelled The Bodyguard, Waiting to Exhale and The Preacher's Wife to enviable commercial heights few singer-actors have enjoyed.
In 2020, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognized the late icon's ongoing impact by inducting her into its ranks.
