Today is yesterday's tomorrow

It's Sunday night and I'm wrapping up another YouTube marathon weekend, where I came across some stories about Paul McCartney and John Lennon. American singer/songwriter/guitarist Carl Perkins had enormous influence on The Beatles, early in their careers.
This video I'm linking is about after their breakup and how they often collaborated with other musicians.
Paul & Linda had visited John in New York at The Dakota apartments where he was staying. As they were leaving it's claimed Lennon said: "Think about me every now and then old friend..." Something they didn't share with anyone else. Lennon was murdered in 1980.
Years later, McCartney invited Carl Perkins to work on a project with him and stayed at their house. Carl had a dream with a song lyric and the next morning he played it for Paul, repeating the last words he and Linda heard when leaving John.
The rest is history.
Did the spirit of John pass by Carl that night?

...25 years since he left, and now one billion hits. Albums like "Never Mind", and songs like "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Began a whole genre of rock. Biting lyrics. GF choices could have been better. We all have our weak points. Sorely missed.

I'll start with Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
Just curious on who is a musician/singer/songwriter and what kind of music really speaks to you? Any interesting stories you have when youve written songs or if you've preformed with interesting people? or whatever you want to share to inspire us. I'll start out.I've been writing lyrics since I was a teenager. I used to wake up with songs in my head and write them down. It came pretty natural for a few years anyways. Then in 2009 I met a country singer and ended up managing him for a year and a half. Best experience ever.I learned alot about the business and the hard work involved to even get your music out there.
After that I started writing again. I met a cowboy a year later and wrote a song.
Cowboy and stars
We were sitting -outside- it was late one night
The moonlight- shone in her hair
I was playing- her a song- on my guitar
We were breathing- in that - country air
She looked at me- with love- in her eyes
I held her- close- in my arms
We made love- All night long
on the grass- beneath the stars
Chorus- She said-- You had me at cowboy
I told her-- She had me at stars
She said, She loved- the way I loved her
She felt safe- in my cowboy arms
She said, She- would- always be faithful
Her heart- would- forever be true.
Because I had her-- at cowboy
And she had me-- at stars.
She- didn't mind - I loved the country
She- didn't mind - my red neckin ways
She- didn't try- and change me
She just- loved me - anyways
She loved- that- I'm a cowboy
and to that- I must be true
She loved- all- my cowboy lovin
And I loved- all- her lovin too
Chorus- She said-- You had me at cowboy
I told her-- She had me at stars
She said, She loved- the way- I loved her
She felt safe- in my cowboy arms
She said, She- would always- be faithful
Her heart- would- forever be true.
Because I had her-- at cowboy
And she had me-- at stars.
Still remember that night- almost- 20 years ago
playing- to her- on my guitar
Moon- still shining- in her hair
Still loving her - under the stars
There's things- in life- that make you smile
take your baby- and hold her- in your arms
Your never to old- you're never too late
to make love to her-under the stars
Chorus- Because-- You- can have her- at cowboy
and -- She -can have- you- at stars
She- will love= your cowboy lovin
She'll feel safe- in your cowboy arms
For That- She- will always- be faithful
Her heart- will- forever- be true.
Because you had her-- at cowboy
And she had you-- at stars.
Forever Ill be her cowboy- and she'll forever be my stars
Now I'm writing again and looking forward to hear back from other writers, musicians etc.
Don't be shy lol
