How many of you are musicians on CS?

Just curious on who is a musician/singer/songwriter and what kind of music really speaks to you? Any interesting stories you have when youve written songs or if you've preformed with interesting people? or whatever you want to share to inspire us. I'll start out.I've been writing lyrics since I was a teenager. I used to wake up with songs in my head and write them down. It came pretty natural for a few years anyways. Then in 2009 I met a country singer and ended up managing him for a year and a half. Best experience ever.I learned alot about the business and the hard work involved to even get your music out there.

After that I started writing again. I met a cowboy a year later and wrote a song.

Cowboy and stars

We were sitting -outside- it was late one night
The moonlight- shone in her hair
I was playing- her a song- on my guitar
We were breathing- in that - country air

She looked at me- with love- in her eyes
I held her- close- in my arms
We made love- All night long
on the grass- beneath the stars

Chorus- She said-- You had me at cowboy
I told her-- She had me at stars
She said, She loved- the way I loved her
She felt safe- in my cowboy arms
She said, She- would- always be faithful
Her heart- would- forever be true.
Because I had her-- at cowboy
And she had me-- at stars.

She- didn't mind - I loved the country
She- didn't mind - my red neckin ways
She- didn't try- and change me
She just- loved me - anyways

She loved- that- I'm a cowboy
and to that- I must be true
She loved- all- my cowboy lovin
And I loved- all- her lovin too

Chorus- She said-- You had me at cowboy
I told her-- She had me at stars
She said, She loved- the way- I loved her
She felt safe- in my cowboy arms
She said, She- would always- be faithful
Her heart- would- forever be true.
Because I had her-- at cowboy
And she had me-- at stars.

Still remember that night- almost- 20 years ago
playing- to her- on my guitar
Moon- still shining- in her hair
Still loving her - under the stars

There's things- in life- that make you smile
take your baby- and hold her- in your arms
Your never to old- you're never too late
to make love to her-under the stars

Chorus- Because-- You- can have her- at cowboy
and -- She -can have- you- at stars
She- will love= your cowboy lovin
She'll feel safe- in your cowboy arms
For That- She- will always- be faithful
Her heart- will- forever- be true.
Because you had her-- at cowboy
And she had you-- at stars.

Forever Ill be her cowboy- and she'll forever be my stars

Now I'm writing again and looking forward to hear back from other writers, musicians etc.

Don't be shy lol

Something satisfying about music, hey.

I played guitar for 24 years, not so good at writing lyrics or singing, its the music part that I am into.

Me? Musician?
Nope. I'm almost perfectly ungifted along those lines.
The only thing I can play is a radio.
Couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. With a handle.
sigh

Good luck with your search.

Hi Maiden!

I'm a frustrated karaoki singer, could never hit a note, I always give it my best shot with the help of alcohol but never could...but I always managed to have lots of fun though...feels euphoric for melaugh
Hi Maiden,

I've been singing since I was in grade school! I use to sing in public quite a bit but haven't done much of that in the last couple of years! I still love to sing!love
Hey Track, Music is pretty inspiring no matter what outlet you use. It takes creativity whether playing the music . writing or singing. Your music sounds greatt.
Thanks Miclee, you might be surprised you may be able to sing, Radio is good though. Good luck to you and thanks for the comment.
Robbie,
That is awesome. You have had alot of accomplishments and I can tell you are passionate. The fact you had a song used in that movie well done!!! You should be writing the blogs and helping us lesser musicians out. lol
Hi crazy heart,

Im rather shy so it takes me some liquid courage to sing in front of ppl although I prefer to write lyrics and have someone else sing them. I cant read notes or write notes. Im sure you sing beautifully and the fact you get up to sing is great. Keep singing

Hi Maiden, keep up the good work, but , learn to expand styles of music, there is good music and there is bad music and a lot in between. I have written music, but my mainstay was teaching young folks about music not only to play an instrument but to appreciate music. As I said there is good and bad and you can find satisfaction in both. I've taught 100's of students during my 31 years of teaching and I have been retired since 1976, I still like many kinds of music, and I miss teaching it. When I get on the computer, I generally have music playing in the back ground, normally when I get up in the morning, there is a song going in my mind. studecar applause professor
