It doesn't effect the reality if someone believe or not.
God created and sent us on the earth , god sent his messengers along with the books (Bible , Quran , Torah etc) to show us the right and wrong ways and left us independent to choose a way .
Let me try to answer your question
Adam and eve were the first human on the earth ,they got married and had children and they are our ancestors, have a look on the history and the holy books to find the truth , god always do the best and it is always in our favor for sure , the fact is that we don't have power over nature , we can take the medicines but can't control or hold the soul in the bodies .
The history is full of miracles with proofs , we want god to move according us and the god always do whatever is good for us but we can't understand that

We need to understand that mankind has not changed since Adam and Eve. There are those that believe and those that don't. Some of these unbelievers may also be evil and crooked. The bible has history of these same kinds of people that exist today.
We also need to understand that God and Jesus Christ have the capability to get angry and they do so with reason. Hurting others is not a right and will be dealt with severely by God Almighty. So God is not ignoring the bad things of the world. God allows you until your deathbed to repent and that's why it appears that God does nothing.
We have to understand that God does not like sin but he loves the sinner because He created the man whether he sins or not. But, again, the sinning man is in deep deep trouble if he doesn't repent. We cannot "wish" punishment on other's because punishment is God's!!!
