Bob Dylan selling his entire music catalog...

I had no reason to question why Guns N' Roses covered music from other artists. I've always hear the original composer gets 50% of the royalties. I blogged about this before as music of the 50's often were covered many times by lots of no-name artists looking for exposure.

It was just a boost as we already know guns N' Roses. Last year, I heard on my local classic rock station they were asked by Dylan to record the song as he was broke and needed some royalty money.

Last week, it was reported Bob Dylan sold his song catalog to Universal Media Group to an undisclosed amount. People on the grapevine are saying it's around $300 million.

chatillion's list of iconic (and quirky) guitars...

No specific order, but I started playing guitar in the 1960's with memories of Chet Atkins playing a Gretch. He had several different models. Big, clunky usually orange with gold plated hardware. Some had a single cutaway and some double. Very iconic!

CD in the car...

Earlier this year I purchased a 2020 model car. A few days ago while going through CD's I decided to bring one along and play it while on the way to work.
Small problem... the car doesn't have a CD player!
It does have a USB port and will play MP3's. As a plus, it will play videos on the 7" display as long as the car is in park. When shifted out of park the video closes and only music can be heard.
The next step is using Windows Media Player and rip the music to the hard drive then download to a memory stick. Doing so captures the album, artist and song title on the list.
I've been able to put a bunch of CD's on to one stick which is more convenient that having CD cases in the car!

Modern solution to an old problem.

ALL NIGHT DANCE PARTY (Biden & Harris supporters ONLY)

It's celebration time.
This is THE online place.
Dance, sing, rejoice, post videos, throw your clothes in the air,
or do whatever is somewhat reasonable, in celebration of the Biden / Harris team winning.

This party is ONLY for Biden & Harris supporters.
Others have been warned and will suffer deletion,
especially if you attempt to 'harsh our mellow dudes'.
Save your negativity for another time and another blog.
Again, it is celebration time. 290 whoop whoop !

Lets have the dancing commence;

Cher sings a new song in honor of Joe Biden

It seem like happiness is just a thing called Joe
He's got a smile that makes the lilacs want to grow
He's got a way that makes the angels heave a sigh
When they know President Joe's passing by
Right now our country's gloomy, fear is in the air
But when Joe's president, hope is everywhere
Troubles fly away and life will easy, flow
Joe will keep us safe, that's all we need to know
Seems like happiness is just a thing called Joe
Sometimes there seems no end to misery and despair
But when Joe smiles at us, compassion fills the air
Troubles fly away and life is easy flow
Joe will keep us safe, that's all we need to know
Seems like happiness is just a thing called Joe
President Joe, President Joe, President Joe

Her music seems to be a blend between blues, soul and folk. I like her voice.

Edith Piaf : Tribute 10/10

For some one who does not know much about all things French. Can’t speak or understand French. I am totally unqualified to to pay a Tribute to this great person, singer Edith Piaf. I have heard couple of her very famous songs. Her voice is so powerful and the lyrics that pierces your heart.
Edith Piaf sadly passed away on the 10th October 1963. She was born on 19 December 1912. There were couple of very sad events in her life which broke her. It would be good to have comments from a French person or a person who knows more about her than I do.
Currently Stella Artois is doing an Ad in UK and has lead me to this tribute.
