I Have Become Comfortably Numb

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
...
And I have become comfortably numb

Announcement

After a great deal of thought I decided I wanted to make an announcement, but then I changed my mind and decided I didn't want to make one. It was a last minute decision and I only just managed to stop myself from making the announcement before I posted this blog. Had I posted the blog a couple of minutes earlier I would probably have made the announcement.

Now I'm wondering if I should have made the announcement, after all. Still, it's no good crying over spilt milk, it's too late now; I didn't make the announcement and that's that. sigh

LA COSCIENZA RITROVATA - THE REDISCOVERED CONSCIOUSNESS

Esiste una via scientifica e dimostrata che porta alla REALTA' VERA e non quella "olografica virtuale" in cui siamo cognitivamente immersi e nella quale siamo manipolati costantemente.
[There is a scientific and proven way that leads to the REAL REALITY and not the "virtual holographic" one in which we are cognitively immersed and in which we are constantly manipulated.]

To the owners of this site: I am most grateful

As a long time member of this site, I want to acknowledge my gratefulness for the owners, moderators and anyone who is responsible in providing us this wonderful place.

Not only do they give us members the chance to meet our significant others (two great loves in my case) but that they allow us to have a very respectful and interesting discussions about almost anything else.

I would like to invite everyone and share me in thanking the owners, moderators and anyone involved in providing us this free site.

Thank you again moderators for having a good control and your fast response to cut incessant insults from some posters when needed. I have been involved many a times and I have learned that in order for all of us to learn we must remain decent and positive on all of our posts to foster a good relationship.

Of course, we will have a lot of disagreements on almost everything and why not, we are all different, but agreeing to disagree is the mood that the owners promote.

I have learned and I am trying to be good to everyone, including those that disagree with me and don't like me.

Thank you all.

My Happy Ever After

A long time ago, when I was having a difficulty geeting a proper job as Nurse in the Philippines, and we were in dire financial struggle, I told God that if need be, I would trade my happy ever after for a chance to be able to provide for my family's needs.

I wasn't being self important by thinking that somehow my voluntary suffering will alleviate the suffering of others. It wasn't about that. But at that time, I was ready to forego my own happiness for something else without fully knowing the consequences. Or how lonely its going to be. And now it seems like God taking it seriously! Oh No! I hope He isnt.

I wonder where my happy ever after is.

(A childish thought for tonight. Nothing too deep. )

Before You Judge

One beautiful Monday morning, I stepped out in front of my door and noticed a mad man standing right in front of my door step,he bent down, wrote “W”, and asked me what he wrote. At this point, I was already feeling ashamed, getting involved in a lengthy conversation with him. In a hurry to leave, I said “w”, but I was amazed when he replied to my answer, “You only see 'W', because of the angle at which you are looking at it. If you turn upside down, you'll see “M”; from the right side, it is “3”, and from the left side, it is “E”.

The fact that I don’t see things at the perspective that everyone is seeing it doesn’t make me a mad man, he said. Then he left.

I pondered for so long about this though; and more, its application to life. We act, and relate to people, based on the perspective at which we are looking at their situation. Have you taken your time to look at other possible perspectives, views and angles, maybe, a little from their own view before we judge them? I then decided that, before I get angry with, or act against, or judge, anyone that has done something unfavourable to me, I will view it in at least three possible perspectives, mine, theirs and others'.

So, before you judge people,
before you rage your anger on them,
take a little time to view their angle or perspective, and,
if you still cannot see a reasonable reason,
then you may act REASONABLY .
Have a great week

The Crossroads

Late one night, some years ago, I was walking home when I reached a crossroads where, from out of nowhere, appeared a shadowy figure. Although I was eager to get home he managed, easily, to engage me in conversation, as he was very charismatic. He was also very persuasive, but, luckily for me, nothing transpired that required the removal of my trousers. We came to an arrangement.

Now that I have reached an age where thoughts of my mortality are becoming ever more prevalent, I am plagued with regrets about the agreement I entered into. If I could turn back the clock to that night at those crossroads, this time I would keep right on walking when that stranger appeared, or at the very least be more ambitious in my negotiations. It’s not that I haven’t enjoyed the local fame that came with being a virtuoso of the spoons, but it is only in hindsight that it occurs to me that the electric guitar might have been a more rewarding choice. sigh

My opinion on opinions

One purpose of the blogs is to express your opinion. Quite a few just post videos or cut and paste articles; which is not so much expressing an opinion as just agreeing with someone else's. I think there is a case to be made that, if you are not capable of articulating your opinion yourself, then you are not really qualified to have an opinion that deserves sharing. scold

Going straight

As I stand here outside the prison gates, breathing in the air of freedom and feeling grateful for my early release, I am reflecting on my crime and the justness of my punishment. I have learned my lesson; from now on, whenever I am tempted to refer to another member, I will put far more effort into making their identity clear without actually mentioning their name.

And now, let the celebrations of my return commence. reunion party
