Time to heal

This is a peaceful thread so please don't start a riot or use obscene language.

As a human being watching the World implode over the incident in Minneapolis I have to ask myself why we are not learning from this instead of tearing each other apart.

Yes there is still prejudice in this World in many walks of life, but taking sides just causes more division . Racism is deep rooted and a part of our history but it should be just that HISTORY Have we learned nothing from the past that we cannot move forward together and unite instead of divide.

Your thoughts are welcome but not your anger or hate. Take it elsewhere

Thank you.handshake

To the owners of this site: I am most grateful

As a long time member of this site, I want to acknowledge my gratefulness for the owners, moderators and anyone who is responsible in providing us this wonderful place.

Not only do they give us members the chance to meet our significant others (two great loves in my case) but that they allow us to have a very respectful and interesting discussions about almost anything else.

I would like to invite everyone and share me in thanking the owners, moderators and anyone involved in providing us this free site.

Thank you again moderators for having a good control and your fast response to cut incessant insults from some posters when needed. I have been involved many a times and I have learned that in order for all of us to learn we must remain decent and positive on all of our posts to foster a good relationship.

Of course, we will have a lot of disagreements on almost everything and why not, we are all different, but agreeing to disagree is the mood that the owners promote.

I have learned and I am trying to be good to everyone, including those that disagree with me and don't like me.

Thank you all.

Narcissism and the internet

I encourage bloggers to google The Internet Narcissism epidemic Its a well known fact, that Narcissists use the internet as a tool to inflate their imaginary Grandiose image of themselves,I have seen a few endless lengthy blogs here,Narcissists try and inflate their ego using Subtle Pride,eg:by telling everyone, how wise they are, don't fall for it,some say "I'm only here for the Blogs this again this gives them a feeling of Superiority,Please Google the Narcissist Personalty Disorder they are not nice people NPD is a mental disorder, and remember Knowledge is Power, heres to dealing with real people,I expect criticism because when you criticise a Narcissist you are just worthless, they respond with anger ann disdain and more. So someone (I won't say who) emails me

the all important question.

"Did your repair of the lawnmower's pull cord pass a field test?"

LoL, yes, that is important to know. What good is a repair that doesn't work?

So, in the interest of settling any doubts, after returning the assembly to the source mower, I made this short video.

This mower had sat outside for a long time after the cord broke before I brought it inside. I believe moisture got into the fuel line either during the winter months or the spring rains. In any case you will note the initial hesitation and white smoke. Not to worry. It soon burned off the moisture and the hesitations stopped. All is good. I used this mower today with no problems.

A Ho-Hum cloudy day

So dark and gloomy outside I have the lights on. The rain has passed, but the clouds linger. I am living dangerously. I have gotten tired of opening and closing the front door every 5 minutes to let one or both cats in or out. So I have propped the door wide open and am trying to ignore the small sounds coming from other rooms. Could be the cats, could be a snake or a fox. Schrodinger's rule. It is all those things until I get up to look. Maybe it is a topless Playboy model. Maybe I should go look?

Nah, just one of the cats. He saw me and with a guilty expression scooted back outside. Sigh. Now I have to check and make sure he wasn't hiding half a baby rabbit or some other such valuable treasure under the bed. I took inventory last night of stuff in my basement then googled some of the finds. I decided many things I have had for decades can go away now. Although I had thought they might, ,some of our more expensive purchases did not appreciate in value. Indeed I learn with a little googling many dropped enormously in value the longer I kept them.

A 1963 Johnson 3 HP outboard 2 cycle motor. Bought new by my grandfather and used on his 12 foot rowboat for flounder fishing often with me along, long, long ago.

My old US Divers Co. Navy MK I SCUBA tank (with J valve) and backpack. Used only a few times in the early 70s and early 80s it gave me trouble free performance.

A Schwinn 1973 Continental woman's 10 Speed bike. Manufactured in the USA. My wife's. Once upon a time, when it was new, she used it for commuting when she lived only a few blocks from OPM. She continued to ride it until about a year before her passing.

A Schwinn 1995 centennial woman's Cruiser bike. Only one speed. As soon as they came out, wife decided she had to have one. I have no idea why. I don't believe she ever rode it after getting it home. If I was female I would stick a small motor on it. Or add gears, but I certainly wouldn't want a bike with no gears in this hilly area.

My Mother's Zephyr TriStar. A 3 speed tricycle for adults. Ideal for a senior citizen living in an area with paved roads who wants to do some grocery shopping or still scoot around town after his/her driver's license is revoked. In theory anyway. In actuality I think Mom used it only one time, then decided bike pedaling was no fun compared to the convenience of having me do her grocery shopping for her. If I was a decade older I would stick a motor on it. It has the brackets for mounting one and I really don't understand why she didn't get one with the motor already installed.

I learned yesterday most of these things have declined in value to less than 1/3 of the value of their original purchase price. Together they eat a fair amount of basement floor space. Today, all of them went on Craigslist at about $200 each. LoL the Johnson motor cost just about that when new, so at least it breaks even. Of course in real dollars, it lost a lot of value. $200 was a lot more money in 1963.

Hmm, the other cat just poked his head in, looked at me and ran back to the front door. I really should just close the door I think.

Self Improvement

How nice it is to be free.bouquet professor No restrictions.

Well as you may already know, there were so many of us in CS jail in the last week or so. All for different reasons but bottom line is that on my note it said: "This site is free for those who respect the rules", or something in that regard.

Most of you probably has never been banned or in jail, so let me tell you how I felt when I got banned from posting, not that most of you care, but perhaps, if you are like me, seeking constantly to improve ourselves, then that was a very good lesson. I hope I learn enough that I wouldn't be banned again.

I knew there are so many on here that don't share my position on matters that affect my life, but the reality of it is, there will always be those that don't like me, insult, and or dislike, however, this site does provide this very nice section to express our different opinions, different experiences, belief and values and I will strive to be better always. Never losing our cool is the bottom line. Be diplomatic and debate with respect. I know I fell off the wagon so many times, but I will try to be very civil and diplomatic in all our discussions.

Most of all, I want to express my gratefulness on this site for having provided me not only once but twice in finding a very true love and friends, like you.

Thanks for all your reads and comments (if any).teddybear teddybear cheers cheers

I have missed you all.teddybear teddybear cheers

Note: I want to thank all those who wrote me everyday and kept in touch with me while in Jail. So many of you have made me feel like I never left. You all know who you are. Thanks..bouquet bouquet hug hug teddybear teddybear
