I have some wealthy clients who know a healthy diet and exercise doesn't always 'hold back the years' and they resort to a little 'nip & tuck' (read: plastic surgery) to maintain their youthful appearance.

Many years ago, I was working for a custom millwork shop and assigned to work on a project for the new offices of a famous plastic surgeon. It was reported his first client scheduled in the new facility was actor Leslie Nielson. This happened shortly before he filmed The Naked Gun movie.

You can quote me on this: "Good plastic surgery is when people say you look terrific and scratch their head wondering how you look so fine and they don't."

I knew a local designer who really got his money's worth. They pulled his face tight... like a bongo drum! It was so strange, people often talked about it. He wore a full wig but his arthritic body appeared to be screaming in pain. You could see darkened age spots in his hands. I'm guessing he was in his 70's.

A boss I worked for was Scottish and had the trait of 'Jawls' where his cheeks drooped and eyelids also had excessive skin. His son had the same traits/characteristics and after graduating high-school had surgery to remove his baggy eyelids. The surgeon trimmed the extra skin at the fold line/wrinkle in his eyelids. Surgery... success.
Exercise made sweat drip into his eyes causing irritation. After surgery the problem was greatly reduced.

Maybe you've seen the real-life woman obsessed to look like Barbie, where the young woman had a Blepharoplasty... literally tightly pulling the skin around her eyes. Frightening to think someone so young would spend so much on looks... considering she was beautiful to start with.

I used to say, when turn 60 I'm going to have my 'bags fixed' a trait with me as long as I can remember, including baby pictures. I've heard all excuses why I have them... lack of sleep, allergy, hereditary. Instead of a trip to a plastic surgeon, I took a trip to China and that was a better investment. The idea plastic surgery has dropped so far down on my do list I'm not thinking about it anymore.

Everyone has reasons to justify plastic surgery. Not every surgery comes out as expected. There are hundreds of internet photos showing botched facelifts, many are of movie stars... people who can afford the best, unfortunately it turns out to be the worst.

I discussed with my wife if she wanted a boob job. We know it's expensive. I've got some of the money saved and I would have to take a bank loan for the rest. She doesn't want to go into debt over surgery, so my only suggestion is to get one boob done now and the other when we have more money.

I read so many self help books in my life that I read out, probably a better word for that; some were betters than others, some i might have learned a little from. But none of them had "the answers", they might have the authors answers, but if you didn't have the same experiences as the author you could only learn what you were ready to learn. One of my first books i read in my young twenties was the Art of Loving by Eric Fromm. I struggled with that one a bit, but at least some of it appealed to me and made sense. I believe my Holy grail was something i hadn't know in my younger years, Love. Another self help book I recall i read later on but i don't recall the author was "Love Is All that's Real." That was a much easier read for me at that time, and i had a much better understanding of what the author was saying. At one point i was tired of reading them, maybe i realized i wasn't going to get my answers from a book, you learn love by loving...i thought so anyway...still i hope there's a light...a transformation from awareness. I haven't found my grail yet...Just to Love and be Loved in Return.

My story of the nightmare I have experienced since I met a man online in 2009. I didn't know he was very rich until 2016. I didn't know he was a narcissist until 2022. I suggest every one learn the signs of a narcissist because they are dangerous.

.....Bravo and I were walking into the government offices of this little ocean hamlet, VERY ham. On our way to pay confiscatory taxes---money on its way to much redundancy and waste. Who hasn't seen this? Government employee road work crew, surrounding sewer trench, digging done by oversized backhoe, really only two or three humans needed---one on backhoe, and hand shovelers. Over half a dozen standing/sitting about hole in road, --smoking, joking ---all with paychecks, and government PENSIONS. Crew chief, assistant to crew chief, ad hoc- protempere- adjunct- deputy under secretary to crew chiefs, and so on. Pensions in the dreaded private sector? Don't hold your breaths. Onward we two, and private firm house painters at real work. Merely two souls, busy as bees. Pensions? ---what are those? Same with next few craftperson crews. So, we reach Tax office, at around 10:30, all "workers" gone home, sign on door, "closing at noon, due to storm". No storm within 500 miles. On way home, passed dozens of private businesses, with no "storm early release" notices anywhere in sight. Busy workers. Whence the lack of trust in government, and the phrase, "good enough for government work"'. And suspicion of science, especially as pandering pols wastefully turn it into policy. Using, what?, why OPM of course.The growing dichotomy. Folks on right who produce, create jobs and pay taxes, others on the leftie end of big government pander largesse. Trump Vs. Bernie types. Our mind is designed to run on both belief and truth. It is necessary to strike a balance between the two.
Truth is bitter, belief is sweeter. Truth requires logic, belief does not require logic. Truth is an endless process of logic, belief is a full-stop of logic. Truth is workout, belief is rest. Truth requires a brain, belief does not require a brain.

A scientist reaches a truth by applying a lot of logics. Many years later, another scientist proves that truth wrong by applying another logic. In this way the endless process of logic continues in truth.

Everyone believes in Belief according to their own will. For this we twist the truth in favor of our belief.

We cannot always depend on logic alone, nor can we always depend on belief. It is important to keep a balance in both. If both are imbalanced then we will start harming ourselves and each other.
