Will We Ever Get There?
Every time I look at the stars, I wonder if we will ever get there. It seems unlikely. Is our lifespan too short or are we simply snookered by distance?
Alpha Centauri, our closest neighbor outside our own solar system, is almost four and a half light-years away. This means that if we could travel at one tenth of the speed of light - and we cannot even remotely - it would still take us 45 years to get there. That is 90 years for the return trip with no time for any sight seeing. Few of us will outlive the entire journey.
If we were to attempt to make the journey with one of the space shuttles, it would take 135,000 years just to get there. However, hitching a ride with one of the Voyagers seems to be a better bet. The one-way trip will only take 75,000 years. Alas, we just don’t live long enough to do it.
When we look at our current technology, it seems unlikely that we will get there first and then we don’t even know if Alpha Centauri has any habitable planets. The single planet discovered so far orbiting that star is far too hot to support life as we know it. Life, as we know it, may be much further away.
Therefore, it seems a much safer bet to wait until those little green men arrive here but I not sure if ‘safer’ is the right word. If these beings arrive here, they may not be that well disposed towards us. If they display the same imperialism as our earlier European powers, we’re going to be in for a rough ride. How would you fancy having to perform slave labor on a Drakonian farm? Aliens may even have a taste for long pig… also known as human meat.
Then, on the other hand, maybe those on the other side are sitting with the same problems. It may explain the lack of any real evidence regarding ‘visits’ to our planet for all we had so far are rumors and conspiracy theories. One such theory has it that the far side of the moon is infested with aliens and that the Americans had been warned off the moon; that is why they’re no going there any more!
And I don’t know why everybody just assumes that intelligent extra-terrestrial life has to be humanoid. Maybe when they get here, they will simply proceed with their journey after failing to find intelligent life!

President Donald Trump vowed to stand for free speech on Thursday, warning Big Tech against censoring conservative voices.
“I’ve made it clear that we as a country cannot tolerate political censorship, blacklisting, and rigged search results,” Trump said, calling out social media companies like Google, Facebook, and Twitter.
The president commented on the issue at his campaign rally in Indiana on Thursday night, ahead of the midterm elections in November.
Trump said his administration would always stand up for free speech for “all Americans,” warning the left that their own voices could someday be censored.
“We will not let large corporations silence conservative voices,” he said.
Trump suggested that such activities were un-American, reiterating the principle of free speech.
“We’re not going to let them control what we can and cannot see, read, and learn from, we can’t do that,” Trump said. “America is a free country and we’re going to stay always a free country.”

Smart Phones
I recently replaced my Nokia Express Music with a Sony Xperia. I liked the Nokia; it served me well but it was grossly behind times.
Mastering the Android system took a day or two and at one stage it had me so consumed that I though I would not bother about my laptop anymore. It opened a new world to me and I spent hours installing new apps and reading books on-line. I loved the way you can restore it to factory setting and start all over again. Wonderful, I thought… until I tried to do some serious browsing. That was when I lost half my interest in it.
When I logged on to CS, the other half went. Sorry, I got too used to the bigger screen and a proper keyboard. I tried to comment on somebody’s blog and half way I gave it up for a bad job. My fingers are too dumb for the small keys on the screen and what I did not misspell, the auto-correct function messed up; in stead of just leaving the good words while correcting my mistakes! Back to my faithful old laptop.
I know a lot of people here use their mobiles on CS and they are probably pretty happy with it, but I did not make it; though I still enjoy reading ebooks with it. Maybe I should have gotten a tablet instead but they are too large and clumsy. After all, I just wanted a new phone; one that can slip into my shirt or jacket’s pocket.
Not that I’m unhappy with the phone. On the contrary, I like it very much. I even use the calendar; something I have never used before. I have Whatsapp going and I’m thinking about installing Skype, even though I don’t like apps like that. Too many people troubling me. I don’t have the patience to sit and text all day.
I have a problem though. I cannot get any memory card to work in it. I checked on the web and it seems to be a general issue with the Xperia. If somebody here got a memory card to work in it, please let me know what make it is.

Will lose face to face communication in 20 years
Thanks to technology we are becoming the most impersonal society the earth has to offer. Driverless cars will be the norm very soon, so no more face to face with the police officer that pulls you over
his laptop will have to talk to the cars onboard computer. How about the virtual doctor, no more visits to the doctor, diagnosing will be over broadband. We already have online colleges, so no more beer pong.
Robotics are growing exponentially. Today Japan introduced their robot called Pepper, the robot with EMOTIONS....hmmm! no worry about the menopause cycle here. 
Pepper costs about $1,600. And like all good mobile products, there’s a $120 per month data fee, as well as an $80 per month damage insurance fee. (Feelings don’t come cheap.)

The 25 year period following 1990 was characterized by rapid advances in the field of information technology. It was very much like the early days of the railroad.
Every few years a new locomotive was build which was bigger, better and stronger than its predecessors. Only computers developed much faster. Every few months a new computer hit the market that was smaller, stronger and faster. And with it came bigger hard drives, more memory and more powerful new software.
Information that was almost unobtainable previously, is now available with a few mouse clicks, admittedly not always accurate, but available.
How long before odors and tastes too will be digitized? Imagine watching the Grand Prix on TV, getting the smell of burned tires and exhaust fumes in your nostrils.
How long will it be before knowledge will be downloaded directly from the human brain to be saved on a storage device for later use. Think of the advantages if such knowledge (and even experience) could be uploaded to another brain. Need to learn a new language? No problem, just slip in another disc. Schools will become an outdated concept overnight. No longer will an Einstein’s knowledge perish with the brain.
But this is not limited to humans only. What if your new puppy could be uploaded with a complete set of doggie manners? Think of the brand new practice of slavery if baboons could be uploaded with the knowledge to perform useful tasks.
A bit far fetched you may think but maybe not so, considering that as recent as fifty years ago, the marvels that we now accept as the norm in computers were deemed to be impossible.

A proxy server is an intermediary server that forwards requests for content from multiple clients to different servers across the Internet. Anonymous proxy hides the IP address of the client to bypass geo restrictions, unblock websites
Tor is free software for enabling anonymous communication. Tor is a computer network run by volunteers worldwide. Each volunteer runs what is called a relay, which is just a computer that runs software allowing users to connect to the Internet via the Tor network. messaging or downloading the files.
VPN or Virtual Private Network, is a group of computers networked together over internet. A VPN is designed to provide a secure, encrypted tunnel in which to send/receive the data between the user visitor and website/network. The information sent between the two locations through the encrypted tunnel cannot be read by anyone else.
So, what’s the best choice to anonymize BitTorernt Traffic?
Unfortunately, you will discover that free proxy servers rarely work. Public proxies have slow connection. Proxies do not have much bandwidth. On top of that, a proxy server with an IP rotating system, will not be sufficient to give you anonymity.
Tor is a very slow because your data is routed through a number of relays. ISPs are trying to block Tor relays, making it difficult for some users to connect.
With VPN your BitTorrent traffic will be completely anonymous. The IP will be replaced by IP address of the VPN server. The tunnel of data sending/receiving is completely encrypted and secure. The paid VPN providers offer unlimited speed and u unlimited bandwidth, tons of the servers in many countries, no logging, encrypting and full anonymity. Besides that, they accept Bitcoin and allow users stay anonymous completely. Client’s ISPs or government agencies cannot see what you are downloading, sharing or torrenting.
So, the VPN is the best way to secure and anonymize your BitTorrent traffic completely!
