blogs

The first thing that I look for now on blogs is the ability to inter react with the writer.
If I find that it is not open to responses, I just don't won't bother to read it or look at
whatever is posted.
If it's not a conversation, then I am not engaged.
It's a pity, because some people have some great ideas and subject matter that I
would love to discuss
I wonder how many people feel the same way and respond in a similar fashion? Many
I bet.

It's just a waste of time......IMHO

dunno

Exam

I am Sk Sabbir Ali. I am a student. and I am also a language learner. Today I’d like to talk about exams. How do you feel about your examinations? Do you love them or hate them or perhaps somewhere in between? I asked some students that question, here some of the things that they said.
Rina: Well, actually i—for sure, I feel quite nervous about exams—like every person I think. But for me it's also like a challenge . and it's a good thing to test yourself. So I quite like it in a way. And so since I've so many of them already. I kind of get used to challenge myself on them.
Natasha: 50-50. i—I'm afraid of exams. I kind of hate them because of can't sleep at night before the exam, but I think this is the great opportunity to check my skill. So I feel kind of nervous about exams, but I don’t hate them 100%.
Maria: I feel great about exams. It's a chance to know how well –prepared. You are to fake them.
Jon: I think exams are a good opportunity to challenge yourself, to show your high or weak points, and maybe improve it next time.
.
so you saw there that people feel differently about exams, but how about you? how do you feel ? share your thought with other learners.

The camera, social media, the news and Edward Bernays

In the slaughter, otherwise known as WW1, cameras were so unusual, the propaganda machine would happily show you film of the marching troops waving and saying "hello mum"..but as their sons were dying in the field, there was no filming of their sons crying for their mums.

16 million died, 21 million were wounded. The then Prime minister David lloyd George had a private chat with the editor of the guardian,if people really knew the truth, the war would be stopped tomorrow, and of course they don't know and can't know.

The pioneer of modern propaganda, was an American called Edward Bernays, he invented the term public relations, he wrote, "the intelligent manipulation of the masses an invisible government which is the true ruling power in our country" . He was part of a secretive group called the US public information, set up in 1917 to persuade reluctant Americans to join the war.

The first modern propaganda was set up by this group by scaring the hell out of people by showing posters of the statue of liberty burning with germans planes overhead, planes couldn't even reach America then !

The selling of war has come a long way, but the illusions still work, instead of posters of burning statue of liberty , the burning of the world trade centers were even better, to show we must go to war.

Even though now we all have phones, youtube so many ways to see the other side of wars and lies, we still sit back and allow it to happen, because we can do sod all about it.

The deception of the Iraq war has now been exposed, now they have to concentrate on other people to invade, Iran ?...The persian gulf is the route for the oil to leave Irag and Iran to supply the east, China. To control china, like we have Russia, is to cut off the oil,or lower the price, embargo's.

We cannot risk war with other powers that have nuclear weapons, but we can control shipping routes. If any of you have been to Gibraltar you will understand why we, the Brits, still rule Gibraltar..a vital shipping route.

I wonder what more propganda we will see as to why we should invade Iran, a means to an end.

Watch this space.

Deported from their own country

In the middle of the Indian Ocean lies a relatively unknown island by the name of Diego Garcia. It’s home to one of America’s most important military bases—and a history of human rights abuse. The island was confiscated in 1966 from the local population of Chagossians in secret deals between the governments of the U.S. and U.K., resulting in the forced displacement of more than 2,000.

The Chagos Archipelago, whose largest island is Diego Garcia, is a British territory. In the 1960s, it was separated from Mauritius, a former British colony, for military use and turned into a British Indian Ocean Territory. In 1966, the U.S. negotiated a deal with the U.K. to set up military bases on the island. As a result, thousands of Chagossians were displaced and sent to nearby Mauritius or the Seychelles.

Sabrina Jean, chair of the U.K. Chagos Refugees Group, was one of those refugees. She grew up in Mauritius and now resides in London with her elderly father, husband, and three children. A second-generation Chagossian, she longs for the sandy beaches and clear blue waters of her homeland, she says. Jean estimates that nearly 3,000 second- and third-generation Chagossians live in the U.K.

Now it seems the British are doing the same in the Ascension island.

The guilt of killing for your country..

When I see war on youtube or documentaries i see, mostly, men that are proud to fight for their country, but what is it they are fighting for ?..Do they actually know or are they brain washed to fight.

Young men high on testosterone are flown into countries that they need not be in, I believe and army is to defend your country form being invaded, yet the cannon fodder of your men and women seem happy to go and kill a few whom their masters have said are a risk confused

As these men return to their families, many reflect on what they have done and why.If soldiers felt nothing about taking the life of another human being, that would be indicative of sociopathy.

The transgression that bothered one soldier I read about from Iraq most wasn’t the carnage in the mosque that he and his fellow fighters had done, but another, even more disturbing incident, an accidental killing at a vehicle checkpoint in Iraq. The vague description this guy gave to a local television reporter is horrifying: ‘A vehicle came through that hadn’t been cleared.‘The lieutenant says: “Take them out.” He took them out. They went to the van – it was a bunch of little kids. And he had to take their bodies back to the family.’Instead of killing an armed enemy, he had, through the orders of an officer, killed several children. Accidental killing of civilians in the Iraq War, as in all wars, are much more common than you can imagine. Numbers are so high it wouldn’t benefit the military to keep accurate tabs; rigorous documentation would just fan the public relations nightmare and boost the propaganda value of the deaths for the other side.

He, like many combatants, were able to contain their guilt while still in Iraq. But when he returned home, he brought the Trojan horse with him. It was there, in the calm of these ‘safe’ surroundings, that his guilt and shame overwhelmed him.

Why is it not explained to to these new soldiers, from past soldiers what you can expect ? many returns with PTSD.

And veterans PTSD statistics get revised over time. The findings from the NVVR Study (National Vietnam Veterans' Readjustment Study, in Four Volumes) commissioned by the government in the 1980s initially found that for "Vietnam theater veterans" 15% of men had PTSD at the time of the study and 30% of men had PTSD at some point in their life. But a 2003 re-analysis found that "contrary to the initial analysis of the NVVRS data, a large majority of Vietnam Veterans struggled with chronic PTSD symptoms, with four out of five reporting recent symptoms when interviewed 20-25 years after Vietnam.

As of September 2014, there are about 2.7 million American veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars (compared to 2.6 million Vietnam veterans who fought in Vietnam; there are 8.2 million "Vietnam Era Veterans" (personnel who served anywhere during any time of the Vietnam War)
According to RAND, at least 20% of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans have PTSD and/or Depression. (Military counselors who have been interviewed state that, in their opinion, the percentage of veterans with PTSD is much higher.

Some 8000 US veteran commit suicide each year !

Poverty and the Catholic church

Recently I saw that the President of the Philippines..Roddy rodrigo wants to provide free contraception to over 8 million poor people, but the Catholic church wants to prevent this, and also abortion.

103 million people live in the islands of the Philippines, and id hazard a guess some 80million are living in poverty.. I've seen for myself the way these people live and how many kids they churn out.

The Catholic church has a lot to answer for with not allowing contraception in Africa where Aids has spread like wild fire, its not all their fault but they have contributed.

You cannot keep having kids, with no job and no education, bringing a life into this world because your Church says its ok to have as many kids as you want, who's going to feed them ?..not the church..doh

Teenage pregnancies in the far east has increased due to lack of education, and contraception..Women in their 30s having 10 kids look like they are in their 50's..washing clothes all day in the streams, cooking.

The British woman who told us WW11 had begun dies aged 105

I know none of you would have heard of this woman but Clare Hollingworth had broke the news that German troops were poised to invade Poland and the start of WW11.

In 1936 she found herself in Warsaw distributing aid to the refugees who had fled from the Sudetenland, the Czech territory occupied by the Nazis. In this tension the border between Poland and Germany was sealed to all but diplomatic vehicles. After borrowing a car from the British consul , she drove through the exclusion zone into Germany proudly displaying the union jack flag on the car.

While driving back to Poland, having purchased wine, torches and as much film as possible. she passed a valley in which huge hessian screens had been erected. As the wind blew one of the screens back, it revealed thousands of troops, together with tanks and artillery, all facing the Polish border.

Three days later, she saw the German tanks rolling into Poland But when she phoned the secretary at the British Embassy in Warsaw, he told her it could not be true as negotiations between Britain and Germany were still continuing. She hung the phone out the window so he could listen to the tanks.

Working on her own, often behind enemy lines with nothing more than a toothbrush and a typewriter, she witnessed the collapse of Poland.

She spent her time in a busy war in Cairo,Turkey and Greece, although a bespectacled woman she was as tough as nails, learnt to fy and made several parachute jumps.

After the war she spent her time in the middle east, and was in the Kind David Hotel in Jerusalem when it was bombed by the Jewish terroist Menachem Begin, who was the Irgun leader. Ironic that after the war where allies freed the jew, were to end up killing British troops to get the British out of the state of Israel. Menachem eventually became the Prime minister of Israel and won the nobel peace prize....so crime does pay !

Israel and it's settlements.

So it seems we are all against the Jews, as they would have us believe, and at Xmas time to! Even though they continue to push into lands that are not theirs, they still believe they have the right.

About time the US stood up to their bullying and lies, but trump Will soon be in their pockets again, he's a businessman, he relays on Jewish bankers.
