Life skills vs mental function

We are all born with a brain, new ,clean and unused ,like a blank page or a computer hard drive...
We are exposed to stimuli be it nuture or nature as we mature our brain stores data and we learn...
Everyone's life experience imprints us in a different way .
So a doctor may have the same life skills but need more intelligence than the basic command structure of say a truck driver...

Driving is just hand /eye coordination nothing more ,after all 90% of the population over the age of 15 can aquire this basic skill in a matter of hours...

In fact there are many documented cases of people driving hundreds of miles while asleep !

I myself have zoned out and driven a 2 hour trip and recalled nothing of the journey when asked about it later...

So at what point do we stop learning ?

Does our brain reach a point of being full
Do we reach our potential and then turn off

Or can we all aspire to be more than a simple lump of meat steering an 18 wheeler down a deserted highway gazing into space as the tyres eat up the road and we vegetate behind the wheel ...

I used the doctor / truck driver as an example and my apologies if I have offended anyone

I could have easily used another comparison but I think everyone can understand the concept of my argument

As always this is just my humble opinion

how america became the apotheosis of antintellectualism

if cornell west is a black intellectual, i am a genius. i have read ovr 100 ariticles about the dub idiots of america males and females. at once people got a liberal arts education. today they go to college to get i a stem subject so they can get a stem job. intellectualism is dead most americans have never heard of herbert marcuse most women who are saying they are looking for the right male are at best nice boring antitellectual wome. being jewish you quickly realize how smarter jewish women are than now jewish women but they are not intellectuals, no emma goldman's today, we live in a robitic culture where people have lost the ability to love pop culture has taken over. in paris you seem some intelletualism. it's a sad commentary on american men and women. college degrees but antiintellectual life is about a job. the wod love should be excluded from the dictionary google why american women suck- maybe men might get it a friend of ate millet ira

Disabled Comments Blogs

A lot has been written about “Disabled Comments Blogs” lately.

My suggestion re the same is that the viewer should be informed up front that such blogs do not allow comments, and not at the end of the blog as is the case currently.

I think that persons may be attracted to the blog based on its title and accompanying introductory statement(s), and may wish to comment on it only to find out at the end of the blog that it does not allow comments.

One way of doing this is to put “Comments Disallowed” or a similar phrase in brackets just after the title of the blog on the blog listing page.
This will require the input of CS staff.
Perhaps the system can be programmed in such a way so that when the blog poster ticks off the “comments disallowed” button before posting the blog, this will automatically trigger the action to add “Comments Disallowed” or a similar phrase in brackets just after the title of the blog on the blog listing page.

Anyone who chooses to open and view the contents of the blog is free to do so, knowing fully well that it does not allow comments.

If a blog poster may not be available for a period of time to “mind” the blog by responding to comments soon after they are posted, I do not see the need to disallow comments during this time. Such comments will still be there waiting for responses when the poster returns.

What do you think?
All comments, including other suggestions, welcome!

RIGHT TO REPLY

I have only been a member of this site for a week.

Already I have noticed that some people post on the Blogs then disable the ability to post comments. This prevents people from having a healthy debate about the subject matter.

How can we get a better understanding or an unblinkered view if we close ourselves off to other peoples opinions or genuine facts?

Why is there only a Like facility but no Dislike facility?

Am I the only one that feels this way?

Reading Comprehension

What's the sense in you commenting on a persons blog if you don't fully comprehend it ?

At the end of the day you twist and turn a blog to something totally different from what it originally was.

Sad.

No need to quarreal, rant and rave over someone's blog which obviously you don't fully get the sense of.

Anyway the blogging section on here is just for fun. Why take some of them to a larva level ?

Reading is one aspect - comprehending is another level.

Why do have to shout at each other?.....

Isn't it strange? why shout??....Asked yourself this!..Why do we shout in anger? Why do people shout at each other when they are upset? "But why shout when the other person is just next to you? "Isn't it possible to speak to him or her with a soft voice? Why do we shout at a person when we are angry?..The explanation is this: "When two people are angry at each other their hearts...psychologically distance them selves to cover the distance, they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will shout to each other through that great distance."Now asked yourself this? What happens when two people fall in love? they don't shout at each other, but talk softly, why? Because their hearts are psychologically very close. The distance between them is very small, and to continued, when they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they even get closer to each other and that's all...So next time you shout to a loved one, know that you are creating distance between your heart and that person's heart,a gentle answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stirs up anger. This is very TRUE. Let's start to practice not to shout, and to remember besides shouting drains you so much when you start shouting at each other...I sincerely believe that people should really start to practice this, to create a better society with discipline in all nations.. handshake

Bored and playing...

Seems the site format has been changed again...
Takes me 2 extra screens to log on and an extra screen of adds....

Perhaps an idea would be to fix what isn't working and stop playing with what is ????
