Deja vu. (Joining Yankee"s challenge)

The radio screaming in the squares,
Hypnotists in the public service,
Reports of stormtroopers
On Christian friendship,
A morphine addicted
At the entrance to heaven.
Later all of them flew downhill,
Listening to measured sounds;
Those who were hypnotized
And those who just slept.
An eclipse of mind
Reigned in the country.
The earth revolved in its orbit
But the conscience,
Lost by the country
Will not ever return
Again….

Common Law Of Claim

Should a man steel his feet amongst thee claim,
Steal of feat the man of him in same.

Should a man bear his hand upon thee face
Bare of bone and hand to he his due disgrace

Should a man eye thee fare and dwindling drink
I pronounce it fair and just he water bound to sink.

Should a man linger about your wedded wife
Linger not, you're to show this man's throat the knife.

About this poem:
Just wording around with some play

And no, I don't feel a man's wife is his claim. But many old laws did. It's just a poem.

And yes, I cheated on 'linger'.

Please enjoy.

Happy Old Men

Happy Old Men

For every old grump
There's a happy one
That spreads joy around
Share the burden
Shoulder the weight
To ease your life a bit

Constantly pay
These compliments
To bring out your smile

It's plain to see
In light they live
To share

The words they speak
Are so uplifting
They make
New friends each day
Hands held out
Gesture giving
Back

Full Circle

In The beginning of humanity there was a humble caveman
Who lived in a cave with his female companion. As they
Looked for food and created various weapons, their
Society grew and they became more advanced in their
Ways of life. They made primitive spears and used wooden
Clubs to kill their prey. As time went on they discovered a
Way to make fire. As thousands of years went by, men
Had evolved, living in huts and using coracles to fish in
Rivers. They created metal armour and weapons, so that they
Could fight wars and secure land and wealth by fighting and
Winning battles, but costs were very high, as people
Would die to protect what was theirs. Time progressed,
And men became more civilised after discovering the wheel,
But now wars became bigger and the loss of life was
Higher, but men's conquest excelled, primitive men
Became intelligent and they built roads and buildings to live in.
They were a modern society, which created governments
With wealth, by taxing their people and forming a controlled
Society with laws that had to be obeyed and groups of men
Who became Police and enforced rules that would cost the
Society money if they broke them, and inprisonment
If they were found guilty, - those laws were to be obeyed or
Refusal would cost people dearly. As Governments evolved
They concentrated on a military force to protect the people
From harm. There were soldiers who would travel on
Land and sea and later air. Bombs and super weapons were
Created to blow up cities and possibly the world as we know it.
As the biggest invention since the discovery of the wheel was
The Atom Bomb. It destroyed many lives and left the fallout of
Heavy nuclear radiation around for years to come.
In the 1950's it threatened to end all life on Earth, and the
Threat has been real ever since. Inventions are designed to
Improve the quality of life in our society, but with all these
Weapons of war have we really learnt at all, or reverted
To our savagery coming full circle back to our past,
Were we used to exist like the primitives in the realm
Of a prehistoric society fighting with rocks, clubs and spears.

Canada day

It is another wonderful Canada Day
The Queen was in Ottawa today
The planes were flying high
and the children waved good bye
Saskatchewan and Montreal are playing football
action aggressive what a call
Anthony Cavillo is setting many records for a quartterback
The opposing team seems to be giving him so much slack
How can you win if you do not control the game
To win conquer prevail it is all the same
Other activities at the park
Entertainers making their mark
Children getting painted as a clown
This is better then a frown
How many more Canada days will there be
plenty more but just wait and see

Video Games

It started back in the early 80's
These video games had me hooked
Ms. Pacman started it all
She ate cherries, strawberries, peaches, pretzels, apples, bananas
The only game I could play straight through on a quarter
Golden Axe
You just went through killing bad guys and zapping them with majic
I played as the short guy with the beard and helmet
Then there was Arkanoid
A version of Breakout
You hit blocks and got special help
Lasers, bigger block, hold onto the dot, warp into next phase, life
Then Nintendo came out with Mario Bros.
I didn't have to spend my quarters all the time
I could get the same graphic quality at home
I now play on a system that plays old Nintendo and sega games
Played Ms. Pacman and Tecmo Bowl(football game) this morning
I played Tony Hawk skateboarding and pool on my playstation yesterday
It's been a long time since I bought a new system
I got my XBOX way back in 2004 from a kid at work
He got it free with pepsi points

About this poem:
I have enjoyed my video games for a long time now. I'm not into the role playing games like Zelda, preferring easy to play games like Ms. Pacman and Qix.

The Flipside

Your words ring of poison
An there's hatred in the air
Only you know your background
But i'm sure no one did care

Your opinion is tainted
An a different point of view
The intensity of your words
Reflects broken images of you

Broken from the past
A childhood so severe
That nothing ever lasts
An love was never near

Or is it that you run
With the futuristic pack
Where there is strength in numbers
But alone....you are slack

You sit in devils garden
With hate on your side
An use your mouth aggresively
An mistake it for pride

You are what you are
An i'll accept that fact
But disrespect an ignorance
Is not good tact

But that doesnt bother you
For your life is a haze
An everyone around you
Just puppets in the maze

I hope one day you will see
The good side of life
An treat it with tenderness
To keep you out of strife

when your ready

Don't let it fool you
From the outside looking in
Those walls are made of hardness
An painted with a grin
So much to hide an maybe not
Its never really a sin
Your way to say not today
I hold the key to let you in
It maybe the distance of time
Thats procured your reasoning
Or just a lonely soul
Who doesn't know where to begin
Relationships broken
An thrown in the bin
Childhood dilemma's
Embracing a sin
There is always more that meets the eye
How you personify is at your whim
So you walk your way an i'll walk mine
An i'll acknowlege your painted grin
An when your ready to expose yourself
I'll listen with ear an kin

Hypocrisy…

[1. a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.
2. a pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude.
3. an act or instance of hypocrisy

Origin:
From the Greek: ‘hypókrisis’ play acting, to play a part…]

Dictionary.com

In our insane society its not Ok to take one’s life, its called committing suicide and is against the ‘law’, its also not Ok to assist suicide, even though that may be extremely merciful, whilst it is perfectly Ok for tobacco companies to enrich themselves by ‘slowly’ murdering you, this is called ‘commerce’…,
So, excuse me, what’s the difference?
Way I see it only the speed with which the murder occurs…, the ‘rightness’ or ‘wrongness’ of it does not even feature,
But, they call this ‘civilized’…

Similarly, its ok to be slowly poisoned by huge corporations who spray, irradiate, inject our food with carcinogenic pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides[they even rhyme with ‘homicides’], antibiotics, hormones, and many other deleterious substances…,
But, these things kill you just the same,
But, it’s ‘commerce’,
“How else are we going to feed you?”, they say,
Actually, any piece of land the size of Texas can feed, clothe and shelter all 7 billion of us[we cannot all fit in Texas, don’t misunderstand me, simply that the size of the land can produce what it takes to sustain us], without the murdering sprays, injections, etc…

So, the status quo hypocritical society, punishes
those who would seek to do the compassionate thing[end the pain and suffering of a terminal cancer sufferer, for example], and rewards those who would do the insane…,
This is a dictum which only a culture of beings with faulty comprehension could embrace…

Then, there’s my personal ‘favourite’, war…
If any government, which is infiltrated by pathological liars, psychopaths and the like, sends you to pillage, maim and murder not only ‘enemy’ soldiers but women and children as well, well, then, that’s Ok, you’re suddenly a ‘veteran’ and a ‘hero’, how screwed up have we become???

I was just 14 years old when I saw right through the hypocrisy of all of this,
And its practiced everywhere,
Kindergarten, schools, families, universities, corporations, churches, clubs of every kind, some with very ‘lofty’ ideals,
Yet, yet, according to UNICEF, [22,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.”

“But, I’m Ok Jack, and so are you, s..t why’s the waitress taking so looong to bring me my next beer …”

Century 21

'This ain't rock'n'roll-this is genocide!- David Bowie, from 'Diamond Dogs'
-A Century 21 production..
CENTURY 21
Glittering towers and
Twisting spires of glass and marble
Wretched slums and poverty
It's the 21st century...
Deep space probes
And everything-o-phobes
High class jet-set
And a child with no shoes
It's the 21st century...
Civil wars
And satellites
Dropping bombs
And human rights
It's the 21st century...
The height of
Human history
And stolen kids and misery
With politician parasites
It's the 21st century...
Great strides
In technology
And vast disease
And travesty
It's the 21st century...
