NASA has been on a good run lately, and their last prediction was quite accurate. The intensity of the auroras was indeed amazing. The latest predictions that indicate this cycle could be a match (or exceed) the 1958 storm would seem to indicate that preparations for possible disruptions should be undertaken. The March 1989 storm sure did catch Quebec Hydro off guard!
As for myself, I have my lawn hair ready for hopefully an amazing display of Northern Lights!

The sun goes through cycles of increased solar activity, flares and what have you. Its a natural process. The irony to me is, we have only become aware and have the ability to track it in the last generation or so with the advent of agencies like Nasa etc. Former generations were completely unaware of these things.
It seems to me, given the very loooong history of planet earth, if we were going to be wiped out by something like solar flares given the odds, this would have happened long ago. Chances are, we wouldnt even have known what hit us.

The Only thing we can find is History By research but Not Future ,We dont know about Tomorrow

I think both of you are right. It probably won't be a natural disaster, but who knows.
The alert is about a persistant blackout, a technical temporary collapse.

Don't stare at the show too long - ya' might go blind, and grow hair on your palms.... or is that for another reason

Please will you make a video, I would LOVE to see the Northern Lights you lucky, lucky man!
GUZMAN1: Perhaps you'll could see the "Southern Lights" if the Solar Flare is enough powerful.
I hope so :) But Im in the North Island, so its doubtful. At least if all the powers knocked out, I'll have an awesome view of the stars and the milky way
