Sorry to hear about your experiences on the blogs.
I didn't see the blog in question nor know who was involved so I can't comment on that. Some people often put up blogs and take them down again if they don't get replies, or they don't like the replies they did get. One repeat offender puts up about four or five a day and she takes them down again when nobody is interested.
Overall there isn't a huge difference between the blogs and forums. Lots of people move seamlessly between the two. Some will only stay on one or the other. There are probably more crappy political blogs and more crappy misogynistic threads, but apart from that, not much difference.
The company who ran it for CS went bust. CS said they would set it up again but never did. They lost a load of members as a result. None of them were interested in the blogs and forums.
There used to be a great Chatroom on here. It was brilliant craic. Conversations used to go at the speed of light when busy. I never laughed so much as I did on there. It was such fun.
