You know the answer for you. Nobody else can tell you if you need to be physically attracted to a partner or not.
I can't imagine starting a relationship with someone I found physically unattractive. Of course the personality is the most important thing, but that doesn't mean that you should have to date someone you don't fancy. Sure, we are all going to get older and lose our looks, but that doesn't mean we have to date someone we don't find attractive now. Physical features are part of the initial attraction between people.
I know it is a subject that people vary opinions on, and people can react strong due to personal experiences, but it is still a subject which should be discussed and different viewpoints listened to, because it isn't an open and shut case as to the causes, even experts disagree so it is good to read with an open mind.
I think it's a case of extremism. The most extreme conservatives of religions who weren't accepted in their own countries made the move to settle there when it was a new country and that characteristic has remained. Although in theory it is a multi-racial melting pot, it is really a WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant (male) society and that has not changed. You can see that in the words used to demonise any female or non-white politicians for example. They like to think of themselves as all-encompassing and secular, but yet throw hissy-fits if prayers and adoration of their flag isn't mandatory in schools. As with all countries which haven't learned to separate state from religion, they think other countries which do the same, but with other religions, to be evil. Also, with all their bluff and bluster, I think they lack a sense of real identity. They have no real history and roots. Other real-world countries seem to deal with that better than them. To answer your question, I think it is both tradition and ongoing indoctrination that is the cause.
Also because it doesn't work the same way. Nobody goes out for a couple of syringes of heroine with their friends or partner on a Saturday night to relax.
I haven't played Scrabble in years, but we were brought up on it. It was the go-to family board game. The set had lovely wooden tiles rather than the plastic ones in more recent sets.
I do play an online scrabble-type game with a friend alright, but it is nothing compared to a group sitting around playing together.
Hi Ro, Are they complainers in general as well, or is it just regarding religion? Some people just enjoy complaining. It's what gets them through life. If it is simply about their religion, then If they can't find something that suits them, then they should just pray privately.
I think people should be given the choice of ending their lives, with loving assistance in needed, whilst still protecting them from misuse of that law.
