ScamProof from Root

It's very easy to spot scammers, if only we can allow our brains and minds to work and not just sight. I really get sick reading threads and posts of men and women who lost their hard earned cash simply because they weren't careful at all.

Simply ask the following questions to whoever approaches you, do it gradually or day by day.

Where are you from? "If she/he really interests you, run a background check on his/her profile. Google search the picture again and again. Google her email address or profile user name. If it is a man who claims UK or USA, ask him to send you email attaching his pictures then do a run up check on his IP address. Just Google search "trace email IP" copy and paste his email header to any available email tracing website. The result is amazing.

What do you do there? If she answers "house help, volunteer, no job, caretaker, waiting for dead mother or father to rise from ghastly car accident and sign a bond deposited in a Bank in Heaven. Works in a gold mining company, Construction Company, Modeling, etc. Please run and never look back.

Do you have web cam? No, my computer is very old. Web-cam software cannot download, I am in a cybercafe, it's not working but I am trying to connect it. I am in office and my boss does not allow me, I don't have computer at home, the connection is very slow but I can't imagine how people believe this lies. Please run away.

Do you have phone number? No, rather give me your number I will call you.

Most of them are men using a voice changer mobile phones, this mobile phone has an amazing feature that can transmit the voice of a man into a sexy lady's voice.

I am a mobile phone supplier in China so I know the newest functions in phones.

I met one few days ago and immediately she complained about her house rent and needed urgent $750 which she will refund after 2 days. Well, maybe she assumed I was one good puppy to ride with. Yeah maybe I am, so I decided to play on with her. I promised her I'll send the money tomorrow morning and that I am doing this just because of God.

"Ha-ha, dump Me, I could hear her saying"

She said, "God will bless you, you are the nicest man in the world and I was shouting hallelujah Pastor Scammer! Bless me on but how I wish God will send down fire and consume you and your dead PC. The evil things we do in the name of the Almighty Innocent God flummoxes me, well I pray Him mercy should endure that they all will repent. We ended chat with bunch of love and kiss emoticons which she believed would have melted my heart to send the money as promised.

The following morning, Pastor Scammer was already waiting for me to sign into Yahoo messenger and immediately she sent me a kiss emoticon. I laughed, here we go Pastor, I'm gonna give you a little errand at least I'll make you, spend few cash for taxi and time.

Baby, I sent you the money, here is the MTCN 2235678976, I said. Please go to Western Union agent and collect this money because computer system of where I sent it was slow so you may not verify it online. If at all she knew the MTCN could be verified online even before going to the bank.

Be sure to pay back this money, otherwise...I affirmed just to give her full confidence that I really sent the money.

Immediately Pastor Scammer signed off her messenger and I assumed her went. 30 minutes later she signed back, "Baby the MTCN you gave me is wrong, can you cross-check it again? She added" Now we in for business, Oh! Sorry, it was my fault. The last three digits are wrong. I can imagine her doubtful mind cooling down. She said, I thought of that too, please what's the correct MTCN...?

Then I asked her, please how do you go to pick up the cash; by taxi or bus and she said by taxi, well I was happy.

I changed the last three digits of the MTCN to 2235678679 and she signed off again...

To be continued......

Let me add my two-penny's worth.
I know that women are sometimes genuinely not interested in a man, but sometimes it makes me wonder why I didn't get responses from some of the women on this site, especially if my message is deleted UNREAD. When I reply to profiles, sometimes I wonder:
- Will she think I'm fake?
- Will she think I'm someone in some African country pretending to be in London, England?
- Is she fed-up of hearing of scams or being on the receiving end of scams that she doesn't want anything to do with black men?
- Is this a scammer pretending to be a genuine woman? (It's a blessing in disguise if these don't reply)

Despite those concerns/obstacles, I still write with a positive attitude, believing that somewhere out there is that wonderful woman also looking for me and one day soon we will meet. Perhaps not on this site, but we will definitely meet.
Yes it's also occured to me that some of you reading this post are probably wondering, "is he for real or a scammer?"
Or am I now getting paranoid? :-)
Whatever happened to the days of boy meets girl, boy & girl love each other, boy & girl get married and face the challenges of life together as one?

Why waste your time spotting scammers and annoying them when you can spend that time actually communicating with genuine people?

Watch out for Richard Harrell too. He uses the screen name richard_snow11. He took me for $280. After a week he was telling me that he loved me. He thinks that I'm in love with him and I am not. I don't know him well enough to love him. I don't even like him any more. I thought that he was charming and sweet and all he wants is my money (ha ha I'm broke).
angeleyes1537
I know the feeling all too well. My computer broke and i asked him to help me get a computer. Richard said that he wanted to transfer the money to my bank account. I told him that I don't know my account number which is true but I didn't feel right about giving him my account number. I asked him to wire me the money. He told me I had to send him $300 just to prove that I needed the money for a computer and that I wasn't trying to get money from him. Of course nearly every time he told me why he wanted me to do that his cell phone got extremely staticy. I tried looking him up on white pages both by name and the address in Illinois that he game me and he doesn't seem to exist in Illinois. The street he gave was in a different town even.He promised to send me $4000 to pay my bills only thing is you can't wire money out of Nigeria. I sent him the money then had Western Union refund it then he talked me back into sending him $280 which was my entire unemployment check for the week. That Friday he asked me for another $300 to which I told him that he would not be getting it from me. I don't have money to burn. I know have nearly $2000 in phone bills to pay because of him. He got mad at me because I went back to sleep and only woke up long enough to turn off the phone so that I could sleep. When I got upset that I couldn't even buy food for the week he'd tell me to calm down and not to worry and if I kept going he'd hang up on me because he couldn't deal with me being stressed out. I was yelling at him because he asked me for all the money that I had and he wanted more than that. For a week I couldn't do anything during the time that I knew him I had a cell phone get turned off, nearly had the other phone get turned off, and broke my computer. He didn't think I should get upset and stressed about bills that I needed to pay like the heat and electric bills. I had a hard time working because I need to be able to access my work schedule and print things out but with a cracked screen I was worried about using it and I would have had to download things to the library computer and pay per sheet to print stuff out. I could have been out on the street and he wouldn't have cared.

I emailed him about my first phone bill and he now thinks that we are going to get married and stuff and I just want the guy to pay the bills that he caused and get me the promised computer.

I found many scammers advertise and 'preach' religious talk in their profiles and first chat. "God-Fearing" is a term used repeatedly.

In summation, anyone of you who is approached (messaged) by, who you firmly believe to be, a "scammer", you know what to do. There is no need to bore us all with your tedious story about it and to share your "adventure". And if you are naive and/or stupid enough to be deceived by one, by all means keep it to yourself, so you don't appear to be a complete idiot.roll eyes laugh

Because on this site, no matter what is said or done, some dimwit will be easily fooled by someone and need to share their pathetic story of woe with anyone who will listen. doh

It's no wonder scammers come to this site. It's a chicken coop of birdbrains. And I have no doubt that the stories will continue to flow, no matter what is stated or advised.

Thanks for sharing. Yes, lots of scamming. Wayn.com started a dating site and was inundated with nothing but scammers, even more than this site. I started adding a new line to my profile: "Please use the word ________in the title of your reply." Well, so far, no one has, meaning they are all scammers.
A popular one for "male" scammers says they are widows with a son, and a master's degree in engineering. We just have to be aware, like you said.
If anyone has other tips, I hope they post them.

Guys watch out for this Lady scammer called CVETINA
schmidtz
She goes by the name Tsvetanka Hristova, and the address she gave me is Bulgaria Sofia, suhata Reka Bl 133 Vh V et 5 9p 52.i met her on another dating site. Immediately i contacted her she gave me this email address (hubavelka1984 and phone number choosing to communicate off the site. we got talking for 2 weeks, she claims she doesn't like the men in her country because they are rude and arrogant. she claims she wants to come and visit me in London , but she cant afford the ticket(euros 230 by bus, as she claimed).i offered to book the air ticket, but she declined and suggested that i send the money to her because she will be traveling by bus(coach),because she doesn't like flying. For all the while we were communicating, she never called, claiming that she doesn’t have credit on her phone. But how on earth someone you want to go and see in another country, you wont bother calling from time to time, at least to show that familiarity. Ironically, immediately we agreed I was going to send money for the ticket, she sent her first message saying, ”my name and address is blah blah blah, call me as soon as u send the money, I cant weit to see you” .i tried to make her spend the credit she claimed she never had, by texting me over and over asking for the correct pin. The funny thing is that she duped somebody (euros 270) on this site through the same means in 2008.she deleted her profile only to be back later. The guy she duped earlier has seen her current profile and he said this is now a different model .totally different person but having the same name and address and phone number. CS, please you have to do more to alert users the dangers these scammers pose. They even copy other people’s pictures to create a profile. This lady (CVETINA) is a crook. Guys, watch out!!!!! .there are many other dodgy profiles like hers in her area which she may also be controlling.
