Now that you are knowing a bit more of my nations history, politics and its inhabitants.. Let me show you the beauty of our land...

What have i done?? I told someone i would make a blog about my country today. And I will... But where to start? And what should i focus on? history, politics, lifestyle... and even then do i focus on the flemish part or should i also mention the wallonian part? And should i try to make others understand how we flemish are??? Could anyone ever do that?
Allot of questions but since i guess it would be impossible to understand us without knowing our background, i better start with our history.
We have been an independent nation since 1830 but our history goes further back. I guess one of the first important events in our history would have been at 57BC.. The time where caesar was conquering europe. And in my country there was a tribe called the Eburonen... Their leader was Ambiorix.. A man still honoured in the oldest city of my nation.
Caesar had written in his "Commentarii de bello Gallico" that "Of all the Gauls, the Belgae are the bravest." ("...Horum omnium fortissimi sunt Belgae..."). A legacy we have tried to uphold untill this current date and will keep doing for many more decades to come.
througout history our nation was under different rulings.. BEing dominated by france, spain, holland, Germany,... But noone of them could break our spirits. We have defeated all of them. When in 1830 we claimed our freedom from holland.
During world war 1 and 2 my nation played a keyrole, We as such a small nation wouldn't give in to the germans and refused them passage to attack france. Theirfor we became victims of that powerfull nation but We Always stood up for what we believed and in the end we had won both those wars.
After that we became one of the founding fathers of the european Union. Taken upon us major tasks within nato and united nations. To spread the honour and peace that we value so much.
As you now know a bit about the history of my nation.. Let me tell you about my part of this country... Flanders.. But before i do let me show you a clip about some other famous belgians.
You might be suprised how many belgians you know.
Since flanders have been dominated by so many other nations/cultures we have selected the best of their qualities and made them our own. From that we now have our reputation of being a real bourgondian nation.. Our chocolates, waffles and beers are the best proof of that. Our chocolate and waffles are world famous.. so lets focus on the product we are most proud of.. Our beers. We are a nation of 11 million people.. We have about 180 breweries. Those produce about 970 different kinds of beers today. We have beers in all flavours and strenghts.
With this domination we also had to learn to use humour to our advantage.. I don't know any nation that can make so much fun about itself and don't care about what others think about them.
Perfectly resembled by our national symbol...
When other people were laughing at us for not getting a gouverment for such a long time after last ellections.. we took it a step further.. We organised a party to celebrate the new world record.
And that is why i love my nation.
I have been watching the bbc documentary human earth these last few days. You really gotta have a look at it if you haven't yet.
I find it fascinating how some cultures still work in such primitive ways. When it comes to daily life... how to get food, the way they hunt or fish.. In some cases how they build houses and such. I also noticed allot of tribes still have dancingrituals to find partners. In most cases the males would paint/decorate themselves extensive to attract the women, that in combination with their dancing and/or singing will determine if they get picked by the women.
I noticed the filming took place all over the world, Southern america, canada, asia, africa, Australia..
And since we have some members from those regions i was wondering... How often do you have to deal with those kind of cultures? Or do they live totally seperated from your own culture? I'm just curious.

Look so much different then my old vista.. But should get the hang of it soon enough... seems as if my system is already allot faster so won't hear me complain about it.
Not yet at least. So now lets have a look around to see what i missed... Well i did have a peek once in a while so don't figure it will be to much but still... saw something about dating for skeletons (not my type) ALso noticed some new members if i'm not mistaken so gotta have a look at those.

what a nice day this was.. felt really good this morning so decided to do something i didn't have time for since ever... I was gonna restore the original software of my laptop so all the small bugs and such would be solved in the easiest possible way.
So after making some back ups of all my personla files.. the boot.
No problem so far.. but then you get a little cousin over who desides he could help me a bit while i'm in the shower.. The little rascals totally destroyed the system.
Thank god i still have some back up computers.. way to big for my desk , or any desk for that matter.. took me a while to find all parts, then the first startup.. there we go windows xp.
Pasword???? What was my pasword for this one??? Had about 50 guesses.. nothing worked. Ok whats next.. bypass the entire security system. Took me another half hour or so.
tadaa.. Windows up and running.. now let me get internet.. Whats this.. hmm a message from internet.. Illigal version of windows??.. not really the original disks were a bit messed up so i mixed a legal version of professionel with a legal version of home edition. Just ignore that. Finally got to the point where i got online.. now first a bit of complaining on cs.. Next i better order a new operating system for the laptop.. and get some updates for this puter.. hope i can get them since my windows ain't recognised.
somtimes I think about things. What kind of things you may wonder?? Well let me tell you. I enjoy thinking about things that i can think about. But while I think about things to think about i also think about all things i shouldn't think about but since i think about those things they are actually becoming things i think about when i wasn't supposed to think about those things. Now when those things that i think about while i wasn't supposed to think about those things are they then still things i never think about or are they just other things i think about???? And if i think about all those things doesn't that mean i think about all things that anyone ever could think about? Damn now i think i'm losing it. Don't ya think???
Children love when you tell them stories before sleeping... I have noticed that the fairytales are way to long because well let's be honest nobody still has enough free time to tell stories. Theirfor the solution...
Once upon a time long ago, in a land far away from here, their was a beautifull young girl. She was so wonderfull in every way.. A joy to be around. One day the prince came to her village and noticed her .. they married and lived happily ever after.

I gotta say.. i actually love these kind of stories.. I still read some now and again. Another thing i really love is the disney movies, pixar and such are wonderfull too.. My nephews are getting bigger now so can't use them as an excuse to watch em nowadays.. but i've seen pretty much every single one their is and got most of them on dvd..
Its a skill that i truly admire.. being creative enough to take children away from reality and make them believe in an entire different world. its allot of hard work to create one of those stories and i have the upmost respect for people that can manage that.
If i really need to pick one.. i think my favourite disney would be the lion king.. i just love that one.. or maybe jungle book??.. thats another great one.. Oh well i guess i could name them all as favourite.. they all have such a wonderfull message for our kids. a message of hope, a message of kindness, a message of a better future.
as you all know i've had surgery done and recovery is great so far.. but thats not really what i wanted to let you all know.
Do you realise the nightlife here sucks big time.. its now 10h40pm most are in their room watching tele or sleeping... why isn't there a party anywhere??? I saw some cute girls around I would have liked a dance with them.. but noooo no fun allowed here i think.. boring.. pfff
anyway i'm happy that i've been able to read most blogs but it was hard to type.. I make a special effort tonight because i really feel good.
I must say i found it sad that some took advantage of my surgery to come accuse me and badmouth me. But that only shows what kind of lowlifes they really were and that we should all be grateful that they left. anyway more important is the support i've gotten from so many good people here.. in blogs, cards, mails, flowers.. thank you all it really helped me and i love you all.

The bloody bastards know I can't eat anything like that.. Don't you just gotta love em?
I have been listening allot to other bloggers opinion.
Allot of them seem to think we would get more result if we just ignore everything. And I have a feeling they might be right.
I would ask anyone who considers himself one of the good ones here to completely ignore all supporters of the humped one. No matter how much they provoke you.. stay quiet to them. IF its on your blog.. please delete every comment made by them. If their voices aren't heard anymore they will get bored.. IF we don't react, they will get bored. SO I ask this of all of you.
Let ghandi be our inspiration..
Let us not fight them.. Let them fight themselves.. Let us ignore the hate that they bring and let us show them what love is. Together We can do this.
Just another idea comes to mind.. Maybe the ones that support this action can copy and paste this text and post it as a blog of their own? Maybe the signal would be even more clear then?
