Did the McCanns do it?

Most have probably heard of the case of the missing child Madeleine McCann, who was 3-years old at the time in 2007. New interest in the case has been generated by a Netflix series currently popular. The story takes place in a fancy holiday resort in Portugal that would seem like a very safe place. The Netflix show certainly raises the possibility that the doctor parents may have accidentally killed her with medicine to make her sleep while they partied at night, and then tried to cover up her death by faking an abduction. There are also people who believe Maddie was abducted by a p*dophile ring and that her parents Gerry and Kate McCann are completely innocent. This case probably generated more media attention and scrutiny than any other missing child case ever. Wild rumors ran rampant and were printed by the media with glee, both in Portugal and the UK. Early police work was very questionable and the crime scene was contaminated, instead of being preserved. Dogs were brought in and one appeared to have found blood near the child's bed, and another dog alerted to the smell of a cadaver in the McCann's rental car. The McCann's definitely were guilty of leaving their kids alone, but were not far away and checked on them often, as did their friends. The point was made that this is not unusual in the UK.

One of the McCann friends says she saw a man carrying a child near the time Maggie was noticed missing. The series suggests her memory improved as time went on, but some of the details were in conflict.

The younger twins did not wake up during the time of the discovery that Maddie was missing,(despite a lot of commotion in their room) and Netflix seems to suggest they may have been given sleeping medication.

This case is also notable at a time of social media infancy. One online newspaper that was covering the story and allowing comments learned first hand how vicious and mean spirited people could be while making comments. It's wasn't long before the comments were disabled.

I tend to think the parents did accidentally kill Maddie and decided to cover it up.
dunno

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this case?
Do you think it will ever be solved?

Three tips for becoming a well liked blogger on CS

While very few will be able to check all three boxes, two is still better than one.

#1 Be nice. People tend to like people who are nice better than as$holes.

#2 Be interesting. While this is hard for some people, those who can pull it off will be liked by some, and if you can't manage it, then at least try and be #1.

#3 Be funny. A lot of people definitely can't pull this off, except in their own mind perhaps, but if you can people might tend to overlook your failings on #1 and #2.

lightbulb And if you can't accomplish any of the above at least put up a pretty profile pic. And that concludes my three tips (plus bonus) for becoming a well liked blogger. professor

Downton Abbey or Upstairs Downstairs

Which one did you like better? I liked Downton a little better. The elaborate sets and costumes were very impressive IMO.
