One time I was out walking my 100 pound german shepherd and another big dog came running at us looking like he was going to attack.

I got in front of my dog so the other dog couldn't get to him to protect him.

The other dog came right up to me and was growling, barking and snarling, but I stood my ground. After a few seconds he backed off and started to walk away.

I turned around to grab my dog's leash which I had let go and saw my dog had run down the road behind me about an entire block away looking at me!

What a great guard dog! He completely abandoned me when I was trying to protect him!
It's lucky that guy was strong. I think alligators have the strongest jaws of any animal. Not easy to pry those jaws open, especially when you have sharp teeth cutting your fingers off while you are doing it.

Now that was funny! rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
I once had to hoik my 30kilo lurcher out of a small, but swollen and fast flowing river.

The look of fear on his face when he thought he was going under followed by the love and relief when he saw me coming in after him was well worth the primordial slime which ended up in my knickers. laugh

I'm glad we don't have alligators, mind. uh oh
That's just a baby alligator. But they are still strong as hell. And I don't know whether that guy knew this or not, but where there is a baby, the mother is always around. So he is super lucky he didn't get attacked.
Yeah, I could see how much effort it took to win that round despite the size difference. It's not like that auld fell a had puny hands by any stretch of the imagination.

It had crossed my mind there might be bigger alligators around when he was in that water. Watching the video I was willing him to get out fast even though I knew it all turned out alright. wow laugh
I'm glad both the dog & human survived.
Good thing it wasn't a 12 foot gator or larger.
The outcome would have been a lot different.
That gator looked 2 be only 2 years old.
While I don't want to minimize a gator's bite.
However, there are several cats & bears that have more powerful bites.

I believe a jaguar has the most powerful bite for it's size and there are bears with stronger bites than a gator. Indeed, jaguars kill cayman.

It has to do with the amount of jaw muscle.
I know that it's rather easy to hold a gator's mouth closed.
But, nowhere near as easy to open it.

Regardless, I hope I never personally test it, especially with a large gator.
I've photographed many.
Open wide … the mouths of crocodiles like this contain bacteria that cause potentially lethal infections in people they bite. from
If a croc bite doesn’t get you, infection will
