I got in front of my dog so the other dog couldn't get to him to protect him.
The other dog came right up to me and was growling, barking and snarling, but I stood my ground. After a few seconds he backed off and started to walk away.
I turned around to grab my dog's leash which I had let go and saw my dog had run down the road behind me about an entire block away looking at me!
What a great guard dog! He completely abandoned me when I was trying to protect him!
Now that was funny!
The look of fear on his face when he thought he was going under followed by the love and relief when he saw me coming in after him was well worth the primordial slime which ended up in my knickers.
I'm glad we don't have alligators, mind.
It had crossed my mind there might be bigger alligators around when he was in that water. Watching the video I was willing him to get out fast even though I knew it all turned out alright.
Good thing it wasn't a 12 foot gator or larger.
The outcome would have been a lot different.
That gator looked 2 be only 2 years old.
However, there are several cats & bears that have more powerful bites.
I believe a jaguar has the most powerful bite for it's size and there are bears with stronger bites than a gator. Indeed, jaguars kill cayman.
It has to do with the amount of jaw muscle.
I know that it's rather easy to hold a gator's mouth closed.
But, nowhere near as easy to open it.
Regardless, I hope I never personally test it, especially with a large gator.
