Whats really interesting is the way he reveals some of the most profound principles of ZEN, at least to me.

Scholars stones have been around for 1000s of years, the ideas of contemporary minimalism and sand gardens of Kyoto are closely linked. What is beyond words and infinite in the mind is fleeting and insignifigant in the material world.
Celtic was Old Blue and you playing in a sandbox?

A student of Buddhism presented his Master with a gift - a plain empty box.

Master - "What is it?
Student - "It's emptiness wrapped in nothingness."
Master - "It was very thoughtless of you to give me such a meaningless gift."
Student - "Thank you for such a great compliment, Master."

THERE"S SOMETHING MORE.

Brice Marden's work reminds me of Cracked Ice in a way. Brice Marden ( I believe) is one of the most sought after painters today. Charlie Rose, a personal friend, had him on his show numerous times.

The below video touches on spiritual ideas and beliefs still active today.

Soon we will have eternal life from our embalmers! Who couldve thunk it.laugh
