I don't think fears go away no matter how old we are. We are after all human. What I can tell you is try your best to be kind with yourself. In other words, don't beat yourself up because you have many fears. Think others have fears to but they live in denial and can't even see them! Sometimes these kinds of people blame others for their mistakes and make their partners miserable which may aliviate the stress they have but leave their partner miserable.
Fear is usually about the memories from the past or the worries about an imagined future, When I start to go there, I stop, breathe deeply and say to myself, "are you okay right now, in this moment? how about now? Now?" I keep asking and breathing until I feel more centered and present in this moment. There is no past and there is no future there is only now. If you are thinking about the past you are thinking about it now. If you are imagining a future you are doing it now. It is all NOW.
Try the last and the only way which is God. With God fear is just a word and nothing in it.
You could study the true nature of human rebirth. Or open your eyes to the suffering of the homeless people living and dying on the streets of India. which is what the Buddha did, left his family upon viewing a sick person and went and meditated on the true nature of human and sentient experience
