Star Trek Rhapsody (Strange New Worlds S2)
Before the time of Capt. Kirk,, back when Capt. Pike commanded the Enterprise, something went wrong on a quantum level while the Enterprise was experimenting with a sub space anomaly. The result was in my opinion one of the most enjoyable episodes of Star Trek I have watched (and I have seen a lot of them). The plot is strangely reminiscent of the Buffy the Vampire Hunter episode when the slayer's sister shoplifts a magical ornament that forces people to sing and dance. The two are so similar that Annaka's fear of bunny rabbits is echoed with variation in the Star Trek episode.
In this segment a young Lt. Spock (who still trying to master his human emotions and has a romantic entanglement (for several episodes) with Nurse Chapel and is blind sided when she gets accepted to a far away Fellowship and accepts it without telling him she is about to leave. When he learns of it he asks her why, in the 10 Forward Lounge and due to the quantum distortionshe tells him in heartless song why she is dumping him and leaving.

Here young Lt. James T. Kirk gets instruction in becoming a good XO from an earlier XO of the Enterprise.
I thought I recognized the score of this piece, and sure enough, she confirms it a few seconds later.

Mcbob.) It was the size of the wound that prompted my curiosity.

He played prominently in Star Trek Discovery (which also introduced us to the darker side of running a multi planet Federation and keeping successful discord to a minimum). Discovery takes place before the accident that resulted in his trip to Talos IV. However Captain Pike was shown his future and accepts it. Strsmge New Worlds is also before the events putting him in the wheel chair.
This may help tie it together.
I also liked the concept unveiled in Discovery that the far flung Federation has a darker side with a KGB equivalent (Section 31) to keep the member worlds in line. Of course it would. No other choice. Personally I called that series (Discovery) Star Trek Gotham, but that was just me.
