Handsome man and the IBM laptop
One of the most cruel type of online scammers are so called "love scammers" or "romance scammers". Mostly they are guys targeting single women, but in other cases it's guys pretending to be young, pretty women who target men.They send e-mails filled with romantic poetry and promises of their undying devotion, in hopes that this would assure a cash advance to pay for a fake hotel or plane bill. The victim believes that the relationship is sincere, but ends up with broken dreams and an empty pocket book.
I was almost a victim of this love scam from USA.this man named MR.C---...and he said he is an engineer...he send me several emails telling his love to me.
one day he told me he sent a parcel which included diamond ring, chain, necklace, also an IBM laptop... he also told me he put 3500GPB inside with a foil. after a few days a woman from malaysia said my parcel was in custom because they found the cash inside, and ask me to pay US3000 to their staff account and let them settle the payment to custom.I knew something wasn't right..I immediately contacted the Malaysian police and asked them to check that phone number and reported against C----..
This person was really good at their game. kept telling me I was wonderful, and sweet, and beautiful ... all the things a person wants to hear ... When someone tells you how wonderful you are, it is only natural that you want to believe it. :-)hahhahhha....
the connection I was feeling turned out to be based on a lie. Still, I feel I learned more about myself from this experience. I have learned that I am able to go with the flow and be open, and still be smart enough to protect my overall well-being, all at the same time.
