The world of County Hospitals

The wait times are a little outgrageous. I had an appointment at 9:30, and never got out till noon.
I had to get to County Harbor UCLA hospital by 8:30 in order to find a parking space, (they are scarce) and go through security. (a metal detector) and I go off everytime. (Knee Brace)
It takes a couple of months to get an MRI or Ultrasound, and if you have to go to the ER you'll be waiting for 2 to 3 days before you see the ER Doctor. Guess you need to be near death before you can get in rapidly.
Just venting. Yes some of the people working there can be cold hearted and it feels very impersonable, but some of the doctors are thourough, and yet others your just a number on a plastic card, so I have good things and bad things to say.
Guess I can't complain, it's at least low cost, and is very helpful when your not working.

You should live in ireland if you think that,s bad if you have an appointment here at 9am you wont get seen till 2pm if you go to the ER you,ll be waiting 15 hours to get seen to by a doctor and if they keep you in you,ll be lying on a gurney in the ER for 4 days before you get a bed on a warduh oh wow mumbling
ER as in EMERGENCY room???? Don't they get the meaning of 'emergency'???? I think that's the problem with countries where the medical facilities are structured (with rigid plastic I would think...), no option but to grin and bear it. The staff know that one does not have other options so they tend to get lax....sad...very sad.
Out here in India, private practice is the rage - you get to pick and choose your doctors and hospitals because you are paying them for services rendered so they better be worth it.
Of course, there are general hospitals which are subsidized for the poor and like everything that comes subsidized - one has to compromise on quality.
