You don't need to apologize for deleting your photos. I did the same thing too for the same reasons you mentioned.
And it works out beautifully for me cos I have come across some guys who are (still) married and are on this site looking for some one to console them for many reasons - lonely marriages, problems in their marriages etc etc etc....And they are only here to look for friends. I befriended a few of them and once they ask me for my photo, I refused to send them.
Why???? What difference will it make...after all, we are just friends on the net....
I would prove you wrong in this case! We can always be creative with our nicknames, thus it can bring in lots of secret admirers as well.....
