Some people have jobs like being a police officer, school teacher, military, or may be a public figure so they don't post pics as they don't want others knowing they are on a dating site. I don't see the big reason. Besides if you like the person; they eventually will show you their picture via private email.

I personally doesn't really care about profile picture
if he has interesting profile then it's more attractive than a profile with nice pictures but only contain

about me :

In truth, they very much, in my opinion reduce their chances of finding someone. I never look at profiles without pictures but, 2 ladies have contacted me and we became very good friends. Photo's did follow very soon.

Much more annoying to me is the question of very much "younger" photo's - I certainly know how much I have changed in the last 20 years.
