The Maltese people WIN !!
Yes, indeed the Maltese people did win. A few days ago on this site a member ( Ru4eva ) during a comment exchange on another issue ,asked me if it was true in Malta there is no law relating to divorce. The answer is NO, and I am sorry Ru4eva, for the delay to answer your question but, as you are aware I had to leave the sight in a flash on this particular occasion and missed discovering your question. On Saturday, June 28th ... in Malta a referendum was held to establish if the people want the right to divorce and remarry, or stay in the mess the Maltese people have been placed in without a law covering divorce. The catholic church body in Malta executed a strong ( wrong ) campaign to influence the NO VOTE ... but the church lost as their motive was warped and the people of Malta, are intelligent enough to know what is best for their lives. The result of the referendum in Malta, was YES ... the people do want the right to divorce and remarry. It is not the right to divorce, which encourage or induce divorce, or harm children or society... it is the environment and the personality of human nature. The union is over when a couple are fully aware they cannot accomplish the one vital and important component ,and which is the ability or willingness to enrich each other's lives.More harm is inflicted on children and society when the children are constantly exposed, and in many cases it is for many years, to the conflict and at times demonstated hate ... between the parents and which the ill effects on children and parents are well known to all. The church and its members have a right to be concerned about the effects of broken marriages but, it is not an excuse to control, and sacrifice individual rights to satisfy the religious beliefs of an organization, state or church.
One can safely state, the church or other groups, for centuries and to a degree also to this day and, specifically in Malta, are also engaged in one big internal political play, and as history indicate also spilling out into local politics. Mature religious faith does yield obvious merits when it does not harm those around you. The personality of the present world's environments indicate clearly that you cannot control and harm your citizens forever. MY QUESTION TO THE READERS IS .... DO YOU BELIEVE IT WAS REALLY GOD WHO INTRODUCED THE INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE, OR WAS IT MAN ?? ... TO SATISFY A REQUIRMENT TO BE ABLE TO CREATE THE MODERN STATE.

I actualy got the question off another blog, lucky from the USA. But who better to ask, than someone who's actualy from there, it sounded like a rumor. I've always believed to get info from the horses mouth so to speak, which in this case, was you, cause you live there.
I was thinking, that not being able to divorce, would have many complication. It must have been the only country (that I know of) to have such a stance on divorce... strange world we live in.
... If I was you whitehorse, I would open a divorce shop.
I understand you, you won the right of freedom of choice and self-determination, but people sometimes do not know what to do with those
.. no, I do not believe it was really God who introduced the institution of marriage, but mankind and its needs ... I wish Maltese people to use divorce as less as possible
I think the created had it pretty much right on, when he thought of the rules for marriage, but as for who actually made the rules man or god is open for debate.
How riddiqu that a church is gonna decide for the "children" what to do.
These diffficult dilemmas are up to every man to decide. Btw, what is the centence u can get for devorce? 15y..20?

Cos its just a paper anyway. If im gonna get married im gonna take my gf's hand, and the two of us are gonne go alone up on a mountain top. We are not gonna talk a hell of a lot. Just stand there for a while. In front of the creator. Cos if he is real, he see us.
That is marrage to me.
