The Maltese people WIN !!

Yes, indeed the Maltese people did win. A few days ago on this site a member ( Ru4eva ) during a comment exchange on another issue ,asked me if it was true in Malta there is no law relating to divorce. The answer is NO, and I am sorry Ru4eva, for the delay to answer your question but, as you are aware I had to leave the sight in a flash on this particular occasion and missed discovering your question. On Saturday, June 28th ... in Malta a referendum was held to establish if the people want the right to divorce and remarry, or stay in the mess the Maltese people have been placed in without a law covering divorce. The catholic church body in Malta executed a strong ( wrong ) campaign to influence the NO VOTE ... but the church lost as their motive was warped and the people of Malta, are intelligent enough to know what is best for their lives. The result of the referendum in Malta, was YES ... the people do want the right to divorce and remarry. It is not the right to divorce, which encourage or induce divorce, or harm children or society... it is the environment and the personality of human nature. The union is over when a couple are fully aware they cannot accomplish the one vital and important component ,and which is the ability or willingness to enrich each other's lives.

More harm is inflicted on children and society when the children are constantly exposed, and in many cases it is for many years, to the conflict and at times demonstated hate ... between the parents and which the ill effects on children and parents are well known to all. The church and its members have a right to be concerned about the effects of broken marriages but, it is not an excuse to control, and sacrifice individual rights to satisfy the religious beliefs of an organization, state or church.

One can safely state, the church or other groups, for centuries and to a degree also to this day and, specifically in Malta, are also engaged in one big internal political play, and as history indicate also spilling out into local politics. Mature religious faith does yield obvious merits when it does not harm those around you. The personality of the present world's environments indicate clearly that you cannot control and harm your citizens forever. MY QUESTION TO THE READERS IS .... DO YOU BELIEVE IT WAS REALLY GOD WHO INTRODUCED THE INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE, OR WAS IT MAN ?? ... TO SATISFY A REQUIRMENT TO BE ABLE TO CREATE THE MODERN STATE.

Good reading, you've joined most of the world now and have a little more freedom. In Austlalia we have a saying, dont mix politics with religion!Have a chocolate Malted on me.yay handshake
laugh... Well whitehorse, thats one way to answer a question...

I actualy got the question off another blog, lucky from the USA. But who better to ask, than someone who's actualy from there, it sounded like a rumor. I've always believed to get info from the horses mouth so to speak, which in this case, was you, cause you live there.

I was thinking, that not being able to divorce, would have many complication. It must have been the only country (that I know of) to have such a stance on divorce... strange world we live in.

laugh... If I was you whitehorse, I would open a divorce shop.
Ive left Austlalia now and I'm back in Australia.(before the writen word police get me)rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing professor cheers
greetings guys, there is another country where divorce is not legal, i will allow someone else to expose where such an injustice is still taking place due to church influence.

ASWINA .... i understand you too, please read the subject blog with a careful eye. the people win a right to work towards ending the hurt, not all of it but at least it can be done through a path

.. no, I do not believe it was really God who introduced the institution of marriage, but mankind and its needs ... I wish Maltese people to use divorce as less as possibledaisy
Man made the Bible... but I think God made the rules.

I think the created had it pretty much right on, when he thought of the rules for marriage, but as for who actually made the rules man or god is open for debate.
sorry to have to leave you friends, you have engaged in an important issue and i thank you .. but i must sign off!
Ireland, right? Well freedom to be foolish or wice is good in my book.
How riddiqu that a church is gonna decide for the "children" what to do.
These diffficult dilemmas are up to every man to decide. Btw, what is the centence u can get for devorce? 15y..20? dunno

Here in our country, in my culture, where I live, producing children can mean the same as marriage. But in saying that, some of our culture still gets married like everyone else too.
10k...That is very rolling on the floor laughing Dont see much of you now, have you been busy pretending to work???cheers
Yea, Joni Mitchell have a good song about not needing that paper.
Cos its just a paper anyway. If im gonna get married im gonna take my gf's hand, and the two of us are gonne go alone up on a mountain top. We are not gonna talk a hell of a lot. Just stand there for a while. In front of the creator. Cos if he is real, he see us.
That is marrage to me.

Welcome back 10k
hey whitehorse,
i was in ur profile, it says "separated"
separated in what meaning? divorsed? or just separated?
hmmmconfused if the last, ure a very law-abiding person then...
grin..u did things like 10k mentioned above conversing
providing ppl with a possibility to correct their mistakes, i reckon, u'll get more those who actually want to make them (mistakes).
So 2011 will be a marriage-boom for Malta.
take care,dont hurry,choose better,be safe.
Oly it looks like people over there just go with one another, some no marry, some marry. To me if they got no ring, there anybodys.
ru4,
living outta wed-lock is common for my country as well as for urs.
but its quite young sort of relations.
we hvnt observed most of its results yet. e.g how it influences outta wed-lock kids in their mature ages.
as far as i know its not good for them. and a lot of examples, that ive seen just proove it.
Logically, I'd say man created the institution of marriage but there are those who believe that God created it. I'd love to agree with the latter because there is usually a small percentage of divorce rates among these people. A good example are the Christians in Indonesia, i.e. if we are to compare them to the US, Australia, England to name a few......
if i could knew before its gonna be for real.....i wouldnt leave my ex..
but now its better...hope now guys wont date girls for 6 years before marriage....
