Lending a helping hand is the best gift.....

It was still dawn - about 5am in the morning and I was getting ready to go out for my normal morning jog. On the way, I came across a lady who was sleeping on the side of the road and for a moment I thought she was dead. I stood from a distant & observed and I was so relieved when she moved sideways. Realizing that she was still alive, I continued with my jog.

More than 2 hours later I returned and she was still there but now in a sitting position. So I approached her and we started chatting. She told me she was literally left there by her relatives with no money, no clothes and no food. So I went home, fixed her a huge glass of milk plus toasted bread with peanut butter on it and brought them back to her. She ate the bread hungrily (even though she told me she didn't like it) but didn't touch the milk....

Then I asked her to stand up so she could move away from the road. Only then did I realize the problem. She couldn't stand upright because something was hanging from between her legs like a huge balloon. I am not too sure as to what it was but it was something from inside her and it was surely an ugly site. I went and sought help from one of the health office nearby but no response. So I served her lunch and dinner.

At night, I asked one of my neighbours to help me lift her to the front door of the health office where I went to ask for help earlier. I gave her a blanket and left her there. In the morning, when I came to check on her again, she was no longer there. The health officers had already called an ambulance and had her sent to a state hospital where she was able to be attended by the doctors thumbs up

Up until now I still couldn't comprehend the fact that she was thrown out like garbage by her own family.confused & I never found out what it was that was hanging from her but I sincerely hope she made it....teddybear

We don't have an elderly care home here. The lady that I'm talking about is not from my town. I don't even know her. It just so happened that I met her that early morning. She's from a different town. She even told me she was brought to our town by car....very sad.....
OMG!How could her own family did something like that?they treat her like a trash...they dont have mercy!frustrated doh
Good morning Coffee, well it's morning on my side of the world...

Thank you. What I did was just a fraction of it but I feel content knowing at least I helped...
Have a great weekend...teddybear
