Would you let .....

a person get away if he/she had been stealing from you all along without you knowing about it and that when it was all uncovered and accounted for, it was a huge sum of money????dunno

And this is what I advised them on rather sternly...

1. Gave the persons until the end of this month to settled the account.

2. And if they don't do it, I am going to report them to the police.

These are two young beautiful girls, in their early twenties
and had been working for me for the last year and a half. One of them is just about to graduate from university.

When I asked them why they did it, their responses were:-

Girl 1: she wanted to pay her credit for her blackberry
Girl 2: she didn't have enough money for college..

Now I am contemplating on my next move. Should I open up a case for them if they don't pay me back? Should I be lenient about it and give them time to pay it back, let's say over a 6 month period? Or Should I report them to the police should they fail to pay it by the end of the month? I don't really have the heart to do the latter but I really do need the money in lump sum to pay for my bills......

What would you do if you were in my shoes???

dunno confused doh help

They took the tuition paid in for some students beginning in January. Then they cover it up with the payment that follows for the following months. It was my fault too cos I trusted them too much. I should have checked my monthly accounts accordingly but........not a good excuse - stupidity on my side...doh
All i can say is im sure they are ashamed and if its at all possible for them to pay it back id let them. I dont think id get the police involved -maybe the parents- they might be good girls who did something silly.wine thumbs up thumbs up wave
I meant to mention i couldnt help notice you took looks into account isnt that a bit bias.wine bouquet
...plus the parents of these 2gals would be a good palce to start I mean get them involved to help you sort out this episode wave
Consult an attorney and find out what you can do legally.
Thanks for your feedback folks....Just got back from churchteddybear teddybear

Waf, I should have checked my accounts - meaning the receipts - money in every night. total balance. My students pay up their tuition in the first two weeks of the beginning of the month. Every night, I collect the funds from them based on the number of students that paid in plus checking the reciepts of payments. Until 3 days ago, I finally decided to check the whole record plus mine and there was the loop hole.......cheers
Have to hit the gym now.....wave wave

THanks for stopping by. I don't think I really need to give them this test because they have both admitted to doing it. I also have their signatures on the students' tuition cards to show that they received the money but they didn't write out the receipt for it. So I've got the tuition cards that have their signatures plus receipts that needs to be written out and given to the students once they paid. It's impossible for them to lie....
Hi Scouse, and what would that be? Share here if you don't mind...
In your situation I would go to the police, do the paperwork, and tell them to hold off on moving forward with the charges. Then show the paperwork to the thieves so they know you mean business. Give them a deadline to pay you back and stick to it. If they don't meet the deadline, tell the cops to proceed.
