There are many who care about more than looks. Money for example.

I'm just joking, but there are many people who manipulate others by lies to get what they want (no matter what that is) and when they get tired or satisfied they manipulate by guilt again to escape from the relationship blameless. You will meet that kind of people all your life.

Don't judge people by words, judge them by deeds. And give yourself time to get to know someone before starting to believe them. It's nice to believe in 'sweet lies', but it's painful in the end. Honest and reliable people usually don't rush into things and don't overuse sweet words.
