If you love, you risk sadness ... if you don't love, you limit happiness.
I try to tip the scale towards happiness ... for me and for those around me.
I think we can learn habits in life that help... things like visiting blogs that add to our happiness and staying away from the ones that bring sadness.
Happiness & sadness.
We have our moments of happiness.
We have our moments of sadness.
You can't have one without other.
In moments of sadness...
We learn to appreciate life.
In moments of happiness....
We appreciate our lives.
We can be happy or sad....
With or without love.
Without life we can't be happy/sad.
Without life we can't love.
If you create happiness for others, you do so for yourself.
That's the balance in the equation.
--- Wise words ... perhaps this is the view of an optimist ... willing to put effort in for the value of the effort alone ... not dependent the 'effort' being returned by someone else.
@Zweet - Life and love --- does more love mean more happiness/sadness or are these not directly related?
Does more love mean more sadness....only if we grow attached to this person & they pass on or leave us. Our heart breaks & aches at times & we become sad. To me you can't have one without another. We creatures of emotion. We can love. We can feel sad. And other emotions.
Moments create happiness.

Love creates happiness.
Love creates sadness.
Life = happiness/sadness.
Love = happiness/sadness.
No amount of love takes away sadness. It happens. Life happens. With the strength of love you can overcome sadness...& other emotions. With love especially for yourself you can overcome anything. If you love yourself, you love yourself enough to embrace what comes your way.
Love yourself = believe in yourself
Believe in yourself....
You're free to overcome....
Any obstacle/setback that comes.
If you can't love yourself....
How are you to love another?
