Paid vs Free Online Dating Membership Sites
Everyone loves free right? Why pay for something that you can get for free sometimes seems like the motto of the internet age when many things online carry an expectation of being free. And no doubt, in many cases there is good stuff that is free, but sometimes it isn’t and you get what you pay for. With all that being said, should you consider using paid dating sites and services when there are also free options available? The good news is that even the paid dating membership sites usually offer a free or trial membership option to new members. This allows someone to sign up and take a look around at some of the site’s features before making a decision to pay. What the site’s count on is that that people who are serious about getting results in their online dating will pay the small fee that is required to upgrade to full access so they can get the additional services and features that a paid membership offers them.Paid memberships are often considered to offer the chance of having a considerably better success rate because assumptions about the type of people who pay for their memberships. One of these assumptions is that people who are serious enough to pay a small fee for access will be more serious about finding a relationship and will make more of an effort to contact others and strike up relationships with them. Not only will they make the effort but they also know that others in the paid memberships have the same desires and expectations and the chance of someone else making contact is also considerably better. With a free membership site, anyone can sign up and then just abandon their profile without being serious at all. In a paid membership site the user who is paying a fee is likely to use the service since they are paying for it.
So in a way with a paid membership site the members are somewhat screened by this process of payment into a group who is at least interested enough to spend a little money on the membership. Theoretically, this extra bit of investment in the process improves the quality of the available prospective dates and that could make a big difference when you are looking for a lasting relationship.Another difference that is often argued between free versus paid dating sites are that free sites are going to have a lower quality of customer support and service since they will have non paying members and the paid sites will need to be better at this since customers are paying and will expect more solid support. While not necessarily true, this argument has many supporters.
Also, the fee for a paid membership site is still usually far less than the cost of just going out for one dinner date or even just to the movies so if you are only looking at it from an economic point of view then it is quite possibly the best option you will get. With all of the positive possibilities this can be money well spent. Millions of people definitely think so and with several sites having success, there is a lot of social proof and success stories out there. It is a fact that most people always look at the cost before deciding whether they want to invest their money and online dating sites are going to be no exception to this. Even though there are free options to explore, some of the lack of self screening that will occur in the paid sites can make them a less effective option. Some of the most successful websites on the Internet are in the paid online dating area because they deliver extremely good value and results for the money spent.

I don't have much experience on dating sites. I've been on a couple of ones that are partly paid. I paid for one month on one of them. My observations are that most of the people there don't pay using only the free options. They just hope to meet someone who has paid so they can communicate with him. All this seemed quite pathetic to me especially when men expect the woman to have paid and they to use it.
I've heard that the really expensive sites are the most successful ones but it's not my personal experience.
