Are you sure, they are having very bad time and no one left to help them.grin The Turks having great time with their economy and they can invest in Greece to save them,i know they hate the Turks but there is no time to be arrogant, its just 99% corruptions,i am not surprised if war will start their. uh oh
If it comes to war it will be just one more time blood was spilled over the last four thousand plus years . It's a pitty even this time will never be the last .
Is Greece or the failure of the Greek economy a threat to anyone?

Yes, Turkey's economy is doing very well... but I'm not sure how they would end up involved.

After the Greek people make the really hard decisions they need to, plenty of nations will step up to help them.

My only concern is that they won't make the difficult decisions and end up choosing a non-democratic form a government... but I don't see that happening. peace

I wish them the best... really hard to accept (relative) poverty compared to what they've had. handshake
The Greek middle class has to pay the bill for the bad bets of bankers with unchecked hubris but myopic vision? I don't think that's fair. Take to the streets!
Firas~ Do you really think we need yet another war? And to whom would that profit? To the Greek or Turkish people? I thought you are more intelligent as that.dunno

I agree that Greece as a country brought its financial chaos over itself, like other countries all over the world. But in my eyes it is most off all a problem of the financial sector that lost much its credibility. I dont see how negatively highlighting everything that opposes countries, cultures, religions, politics, economics etc. adds to a positive outcome. It only helps religious and political extremists, and they surely dont have any interest or intentions in solving problems.

Correct me if Im wrong, but it seems to me that, regardless where people are from or what they believe in, most humans on this earth have the same worries and priorities on a daily basis: money, food, a roof over your head, education for your kids, and a BETTER world for tomorrow....and the best way to improve the world is to start with yourself instead of blaming the other.
inthemind,

The Turks economy is one of the best right now and they invest everywhere, but the Greeks need to ask for help from other places and not only begging the Germans/EU !!

Its very serious and bad time, the politicians their are dumb and they lost their sovereignty long time ago and they still pretending a sovereign state!!??

Democratic system is bad word, those whom use this word are most corrupt countries,so its meaningless word and won't work any more.I believe in a system that, the people have the power of most important issues.sigh
Irish Idaho,
Interesting,i thought only me watching the events. Its really bad time for those hard working class, they give up a lot.cheers

I guess that you are one of those who sees profit in chaos, don't you?

and by the way... from Turkish money we can as well support Greeks! They are the Father Country of West Civilization!
tongue tongue tongue
The Turks just like others, will invest and they get from that investment some money back, but i can see the Greek government still have that arrogant attitude,so they let their people suffer and suffer,is that a government or just ignorances !?dunno

Of course they are one of the most great civilization,i do feel sorry to hear such things about them cos they are nice people, and Demis Roussos one of my favorite singer smoking
Some facts:
1. Greece was bankrupt in 1826, 1843, 1860 and 1893. Only two countries in the world have a bad record - Honduras and Ecuador.
2. In Greece, civil servants could retire at 49 years old with around € 1,000 pension.
3. unmarried daughter of a civil servant inherit his pension after his death, in case of deceased parent "child" to receive a pension age of 26-th years
4. HAIRDRESSER, confectioners, speaker, and people from almost 600 jobs to retire at 53 years of 90% of their last salary as their work is classified as risky
5. All government departments are in contact with citizens, even cancel it in 14 hours
It's all about living within your means - whether on a personal or a national level.

I can never understand borrowing your way out of a crisis except in the short term.
