Canada, Victoria, BC if it wasn't clear enough

In UK, as I'd think you will find with most, their is a connection with the region, and is then further split up with numbers, as Edinburgh is e.g. EH8 8BL.

Howeveer, I'm aware the USA tends to use long numbers only for their postal codes, si its dependant on the country itself.

Also, the same can be regarded for phone numbers, as Edinburgh is 131, Glasgow 141, etc..

Don't use them in Ireland, sure we all know each other,

07701 is my code. I don't use the remaing 4 or 5 digits.

We use numbers as far as I know in US. In rural areas in the country there are other types of codes I believe.

You can goggle US postal codes if you really want to know California if that is where you are going.

J...We have them here !! But I didn't give mine to the Electricity Mob so they dont know where to send the Bill!!

Hello Jul: the postal codes are also here in Canada. We also have what is called and Area Code.... which differs in each of the 10 provinces . And each provincial municipality's area codes varies depending on the location of your residence. I hope this is of some help. The Postal Codes you would have to contact the Provincial Postal Services.

In Canada postal codes are 6 characters ...
letter / number / letter / number / letter / number.

Each province has unique first letters ... I think British Columbia postal codes all start with "V" (okay... wanted to double-check so here's the Wikipedia entry on this topic... this is a more general review than the link provide by Yash)

In the US states and territories ... 5-digits, numbers only. There is a 4 digit extension that makes the full nine digit number quite precise. Using the extension is still optional.

in ireland we all know one another , so no need for any codes , if not by name , then by nicknames ..

There are postal (zip) codes everywhere I guess since the invention of the post In Bulgaria they have 4 digits. You can get info about a certain postal code from Google
