My Special Kids
Today was a wonderful day for me.Some of my students were fasting (also still learning to fast). When it's afternoon pray time (dzhuhur), they're praying together. 3 of them are autistic, 1 speech delay, 1 slow learner. 2 from the autistic kids are still unable to control their talks. 1 kids also can't control his talk eventhough he has speech delay. We, teachers, have a difficulty to make them quiet during free time.
But when they're praying, all of a sudden they're all calm and make no noise at all. They follow the leader without saying a word or making noises. Everytime the clock shows 12 o'clock, they call the teacher (guy) to pray. They keep calling and reminding him to pray with them.
I'm not a very religious kind of person. I sometimes skip my praying time. But today, God has opened my eyes. They have something that we call 'disabillity', but when it comes to pray, when it comes to their relationship with God, they're willing to learn and do the routines.
Working with these kids is such a blessing for me. I'm glad that I chosed to work with them.
