Blog comment deletes

There is and always have been here a small band of Blog Comment Deleters. No need for any names, you know who you are.
As a fan of free speech and freedom of expression I do find this behaviour strange, especially in view of the fact that presumably the blog was posted partly to attract comments. So I can only conclude that the people who indulge in this must be either:

Highly sensitive and slightly neurotic types who cannot stand even the hint of criticism or disagreement to what they have stated, or

Tending to come from relatively undeveloped places where adherence to one set of rules, ideas and beliefs is not only the norm but is expected.

Any thoughts?

There are controversial points on this subject. Some say that it s a sacred right of the blogger who is given the option to keep their blog "clean". Others talk about the sacred right of free speech.
I wouldn't delete, cause the comment represents the personality of the one who comments, not the OP.

About people who delete, from my experience here I think most of people think they are weak and pathetic, but I may be wrong.

Roxana, YEP, I deleted comments a couple of times more than a year ago, shortly I joined CS. But I saw it was stupid and never did it again. So your statement of me having deleted MANY COMMENTS and thus being the master of deleting, is a lie :)

The moderators will only have an issue with comments published which breach libel laws, otherwise I doubt they could care less. Few people here are identifiable anyway

The moderators can't delete comments on a blog but if they delete a profile their comments get deleted too.

when I was banned from the site , I used my other profile and every day the mods were busy deleting my comments and music videos ....but they did not delete that profile for some time and the comments , that were helpfull to others they kept ..
