Higher Culture
What makes a person think they are part of a "Higher Culture" in this day and age ?What are the criteria or characteristics?
Is it Wealth ?
Is it all the real estates they own, or maybe all the family Monetary inheritance they have in the bank and that they don't have to work like the normal people in this world....
Or it Intelligence ?
Do they have to know more about Fine Arts, or classical music or politics.... Have they read more books or have a better knowledge on the world as to the normal person ?
Or is it Religion?
Do you have to be a Christian or Muslim or Buddhist ?
Or Colour of the Skin ?
Do you have to be a certain colour skin or eyes maybe even hair colour or maybe you have to be more beautiful on the outside to be part of a higher culture?
Or their Geographical location on the Map ?
Do you have to part of Europe or America or maybe a Scandinavian country?
Or is it the Food they eat, or etiquette, or moral and principals or is it even the air that they breath maybe it different ......... Lol
Sorry just trying to make sense ... I seen this statement been made a few times and I was wondering what make a person think they are of an higher culture.... :Dunno:
So how many of you believe that you are part of a HIGHER CULTURE and what are your reasons for believing so ?

To start with, they had bigger clubs which they used to beat those of "lower Culture"

yet I have also notice some say being of Christian Faith makes person of higher culture ...

I think its expected ... I seen her make bold statements of this nature before but always ran away when asked to explain.. so its nothing new I guess... Probably an higher culture characteristic
still lives in a stone age or in the jungle,(we know that such ethnics still exist)then they'll probably will not have manners,politeness and intelliegence enough to have a higher culture.But there r many people belonging to any race ,having a higher culture,and reverse.
but I am glad to hear these kind people can be found in all races

Hi Boban thanks for you comment .... I guess that way of thinking still happens in today's world ... People still go around discriminating others thinking they are better ...
What baffles me is who sets the standards of high and low cultures ?

It's just the way that you had omitted that pertinent point "but within his/her means" would have lead the reader to believe you only meant "dressing well" to be some form of more lavish attire synonymous with the more affluent of society. Nothing amuses me on this blog, to tell you the truth. It s your gf who created it to cause an argument with me, it s she who called me several times to come here and argue with her. And I came back only when she said a 100% lie about what I had said. So ask her what she is on to :)
Then again,what is culture,-and what/who decides it,-answer is,-no-one and nothing,it´s up to each one of us to decide what the differencies are,in other words,-a matter of taste and preferences..
Personally,I reckon Homeros or Vergilius being superior to any modern day "chic-lit",and I do prefer Dore or Repin than to graffiti.......
I prefer a European requiem to rap,and I do prefer rationalism and empirism than superstition....
I admire Gothic and Roman architecture than to most modern,and I prefer to watch political debates than to any reality show....
The list is endless,-but my point is,-I choose what I wanna take part of,-and why would I choose something that doesn´t trig my senses,?
So I choose what I consider as "higher",or to be more precise,-intellectual.....,and that´s where the line´s drawn,-intellectual or none intellectual...

Attraction is found in the strength of a person s character, not in erudition, high standart of life...
I see you speak about personal tastes and preferences ...
I guess we all may have difference tastes to the other ... which can be eventually grouped but as you said who/what decides which is higher and which is lower .... (Its like when we go looking for a partner we try to find the perfect one in regards to our likes & dislikes ... yet I prefer someone with who has a little different tastes to mine ... cus its always great to try new things .. and widen my horizon so to say ...
