An odd of a life

There was a time when we were really dirt poor(We're still poor up to now but less the dirt.)and our pet dogs lived to a ripe old age of 16 human years. Now our pets get to have vaccinations not only for anti rabies but for antivirus and vitamins. Yet one of them seems to be dying. It had been given dextrose and an impending blood transfusion. And everybody seems to be teary-eyed having lived together for 10 yrs. When we were very poor. Not even one vaccination was given to both Kongkong and Jinggo. They ate our leftovers, and together we both hunted the house pests like the mice. They were good in hunting though they never ate them. Such was then. And they lived longer than our present pets. Just have to live the fact that life is temporal. How sad!

Tatami, my previous dog was like a pin cushion he had so many injections from the vet, he only lived to 7, I have a feral cat that's never had an injection in her life, she's 9 & perfectly healthy, does make you wonder dunno wine
We once had a dog named Pamie. She lived for 14 years her age (not sure how to compute that in human years). She belonged to my Uncle's and when we (my siblings and me) came to this world, my eldest Uncle gave her to us. She was around until I was 8 years old. She's just a "no breed" dog, but she's the best affectionate, loyal and very good in hunting too. When she died me and my siblings together with my Uncles cried like a river.
we try to enjoy every moment and even with a million joyful moments spent together it's never enough . so sorryblues
@Parti, aren't cats are supposed to eat the mice. Or he might just be bragging about his hunting skills.confused
@Z, a real oddity really.
@Shay, that's why my sister is planning to change pets. At least with a dead bird we won't cry that much.
Thanks for making time to comment. As I'm just on my second month in my new job and it's already 22:59 here, got to sleep now hopin that Shiro boy would survive another day.bouquet
Good night Ate Tam. hug For Shiro as well. teddybear
bless your heart and I pray a speedy passing for your dog does notsuffer too much.
Shay....for each year the dog lives you multiply it by 7 years. So if a dog lives for 10 human years, it lives 70 dog years....it's just more a matter of maturity and development, seeing as they have much shorter life span than we do. professor wave

Tatami... I sometimes wonder if these vaccinations are more of a population control issue, rather than an actual health maintenance of the species. Yes, dogs used to live longer years than they do today and yet humans seem to live longer years today than they did yesterday. Interesting concept. I wish your four-legged friend health and wellness very soon and pray for your family in coping with your struggles. sad flower wave comfort

@Calliopes, thanks for sympathizing. Really, in both sick human and pets, we wish them to get well soon. Yet if there's no hope of a cure, we simply prolong the agony for both the sick and the people around.
@Serenity, thanks for the info and the prayers. I do need them badly now.
@Cherriebabe, so true. And as one commenter said, we treasure the moments, the memories.
So sorry if I couldn't respond right away as I'm just into my second month in this press factory. Still adjusting.
