Blocking

In all the years I am online, I have blocked very few people from chatting to me. However, I felt I had to today. I was chatting to this guy on and off for a couple of weeks but it was very desultory and I didn't feel it was going anywhere so I told him that our chats were over. He just wouldn't take no for answer though and, although I tried to reason with him that I had no interest in him, he told me that I was in a bad mood and he would talk to me tomorrow, so I blocked him.

its the only thing to do lady. you were honest with him he just wouldnt accept it. no point draggin it out cheers
It dragged on for about 2 hours as it was as he continued to mail me even though I asked him not to. Persistence can be admirable but it can also be irritating.
Best thing to do Lady....hug
I wish it could be done in the real world too, block and move on without having to worry about the threats and what not that the person's got in mind....doh
A friend of mind sent me this last week and thought would share it here. It helped me a lot with what I had just gone through. Not that my problem has been solved yet, but the words really helped me to tell the so called person to take a hike.....rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Well, Cyn, we can't fix anyone else and we can only take care of ourselves while doing no harm to others. If they get too much for us, we have the right to block them and protect ourselves.
yes...cyberworld is the only place he knows to kill his insecurities... just like a little frog in coconut shell...
I told one guy I wasn't interested and he told me I'd have to block him or kill him.

Ladyblackadder. I blocked a few people at the beginning for sending me their email in first mail but have not had to block for abusive mail although there could always be a first time. Some people's use of blocking is abit odd - they say they blocked this person and that person and didn't - for some that is abit of a game or maybe they are over sensitive. I find it odd if someone sent polite mail that they would be blocked too. Maybe they have something to hide? In your case you made the right choice by the sound of things.
Hi K, wave I have to agree that trying to reason with him was exhausting. I really couldn't be bothered with it any more.
i gotta say... I like your nickname laugh
Don't feel bad about blocking the guy.. sounds like he deserved it
Ah ok. I thought this blog might have been for his benefit. Anyway, onwards and upwards. thumbs up
Teddybeer, he wasn't a bad guy, just not my type and wouldn't take no for an answer.

Maddog, if I was interested in his opinion, I wouldn't have blocked him in the first place.
