Do average, sane, serious people respond to blog p

The site is wierd sometimes when it comes to getting responses to blog posts. When you put up a serious blog you get responses mostly from jokers and when you try to joke you get these responses mostly from people trying to correct your spelling and being serious. Are you responders all bass ackwards or are you all built upside down - your nose runs and your feet smell?
Come on prove me wrong.

its because its a mainly tabloid as opposed to broadsheet audience

For myself its not worth my time here except to despair of humanity.
Just go with the flow i guess
People are here with different objective and they hardly take serious blog as serious. Average response for serious blog will be ten to fifteen and 3/4 out of it will be inter chat between commenters.
Interesting ob Tiger
I love reading the comments sections in our on line newspapers such as The Age in this coutnry. Very thoughtful insightful comments from very erudite people. So I guess different media attract different demographics.
Thanks for the comments - guys/gals
Chakra, As I see it as the name suggests this site is about connecting singles, the primary aim of the blogs is to allow members to get to know one another, whilst it's true that if you post a serious blog that members find interesting you will get plenty of serious comments ,a fairly light blog will always attract more interest & allow bloggers to "chat" amongst themselves much in line with the principles of the site, there are many specialist blogging sites for those of a more serious nature & perhaps any members who consider their time here is wasted should visit one of those.
We as bloggers have discussed many times the point you make about members correcting your spelling, the result is always the same, the majority here feel as a multi language\cultural site if you can read a post the spelling is good enough. JMO. wave
Sad thing is I want to chat with like minded people that I could possibly be attracted to. The chat here provides me with no such hope.
Thanks for shedding some light. Makes much more sense now. thumbs up
I believe 'Z' has covered it rather well. Each person is different and will join the blogs within their own level of comfort. We make decisions on where and when we will interact, but then... we do that offline too.
