suspended coffees
This story will warm you better than a coffee on a cold winter day."We enter a little coffeehouse with a friend of mine & give our order. While approaching our table, tow people come in & they go to the counter:
'Five coffee please, tow of them for us & three suspended' they pay for the order, take the tow & leave. I asked my friend 'what are those suspended coffees?' He said 'wait for it & you'llsee.' Some more people enter. Tow girls ask for one coffee each, pay & go. The next order was for seven coffees & it was made by three lawyers---three for them & four 'suspended'. While I still wonder what's the deal of those 'suspended' coffees, I enjoy the sunny weather & the beautiful view towards the square in front of the café. Suddenly a man dressed in a shabby clothes who looks like a beggar comes in through the door & kindly asks 'Do you have suspended coffee?'
Its simple---people pay in advance for a coffee meant for some one who can not afford a warm beverage. The tradition with suspended coffees started in Naples, but it has spread all over the world & in some places you can order not only suspended coffee, but also a sandwich or a whole meal.

@ Joury - the word for 2 is 'two' not 'tow'....
