I Notice a lack of Americans on the blogs.
Perhaps they had the right to celebrate removed from the constitution

God bless what America used to be and what it's Patriots still fight for. and I only say that as on on looker, I will never know what it is to be American.

I don't know if the present Political moves are are a reason not to celebrate Independence or to celebrate it even harder.
either way God Bless all good Americans.

I find it really sad but unfortunately any more I think to most Americans Independence Day or as most have come to know it as simply the Fourth of July is nothing more than a day off work with pay. I'd be willing to bet that if you asked, most school kids couldn't name the document that was signed on this date in 1776 (Declaration of Independence) or from what nation it was declaring us free from their rule (England).

I'd like to share the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

What powerful words! Imagine the forethought of the forefathers of this great nation to be able to sum up in a few short words that anyone can understand what our government is supposed to be. Perhaps those who govern us now need to take a refresher course!

Regardless where you live I wish you all a safe and happy Independence Day!
