Spelling, Grammar and Deception.
After carefully reading the scam warnings and advice on my home page, I felt sure I would be able to distinguish scammers from genuine CS members. And at first, this was the case......We've all received scam messages, the references to 'God fearing', 'My dear', offline email addresses and deplorable spelling and grammar from those claiming to be 1st language English speakers, all clear indicators that a scam was afoot. When these popped up I hit the block button immediately. But now I've been reading Forum posts and Blogs and the result is confusion...
How are we to identify scammers if the same bad grammar and spelling is appearing on forums and blogs? Have scammers invaded the Forums and Blogs? Is the only reliable indicator a request for money?
I don't want to waste my time and emotional involvement with a scammer, but neither do I wish to be rude to and dismissive of a genuine CS member and potential friend.
When is spelling and grammar hiding deception, and when is it not????
