Do we have complete free-will???

please indulge me and think: we have the choices before something happens, but that choice we ultimately make is the one that was meant to happen. Logical conclusion, is it not?

All I am saying is that if something happens, it was bound to happen or else it would not have happened.

The ultimate conclusion is that we make our choices but the ultimate choices we make are the ones that were bound to be made.

No experience, no past, no preconceptions. Just pure innocence.

If something HAPPENS there is proper cause to cause it to happen.

what i am saying is that our past affects our future.

it’s all about how you deal with circumstances.hmmm

Thoughts become beliefs and habits, beliefs and habits determine what catches your attention and what you ignore, what you submit to and what you resist. That’s what sets your course in life, the more you understand it the easier it becomes to get to where you want to go.

And as long as you value your beliefs higher than truth and reality, you will not understand this.peace wave

Hi Cmiyer i disagree-some things can be avoided!wine bouquet wave
I don't think there is something like a wrong choice as you have no proof that it would have been better if you have made a different choice. You can only imagine that it would have been better and that is no proof at all.
yes, life is about energy and choices. it’s amazing to think about all the things i went through and the reasons why i am here where i was right now right here in this very moment. there is a reason for everything. deep inside, we know all things. open yourself up and you will become aware.

Hey Cmiyer,

I kinda agree with what I think you kinda said here regarding Quantum Physics, or something like that. lol confused

You know, it has been written someplace, that Ancient Bears believed if something smelled like fish, they ate it.

So, I guess somethings are pre-destined and pre-washed jeans to happen. I read it in the stars last night, or was that in a drink last night? lol beer

Just kidding with you. Have a nice night and day.grin

It has been said that on the outside of the door of heaven it reads, "Whoever will may enter," while on the inside is written, "I have chosen you." According to the Bible both are true.

God chose you to be saved...through the belief in the truth" (2 Thessalonians 2:13).applause yay

Yet, cmiyer freely chose to post this blog.

sheep Cmiyer: Free will to do what? battinghmm! It depends on how much free will. And the choice that was made. I dont want to go to the jail house. . . So Naw! I dont have that much free will. . . . uncertain

laugh Yep! . . . rolling on the floor laughing
If everything is pre-ordained, or written by the fates, then there can by definition be no free will. If however there is no pre-ordained structure to what will happen, then free will is possible. In short since most religions claim there will be an end to the game which will go in a certain 'pre-ordained' fashion, true free will is by definition an enemy of religion as it would allow for an outcome different than that called for by most religions.
Had an intense discussion about this some point with my son who is a physicist, currently working on his doctor title, and he threw heaps of things at me that went waaaayyyy over my head, having to do with dices and all sorts laugh

To me free will is real tricky, for we appear to be the result of previous experiences and influences, so any decisions we make are sort of pre-determined due to that, at least in my view. Nature/nurter (manipulations?) seem to set us on a path, and every choice we make can be traced back in a sort of red line. So while we theoretically for example have the choice between vanilla and chocolate ice-cream, there will be a reason why we choose one over the other. I doubt it can be a truly spontaneous decision. There is no such thing as a true 'new leaf' in our books of life, as the pages before already tell a story, and every line still to come is linked to what's already written down, in my opinion at least.
Hi Cmiyerwink wink

I absolutely believe that we have a free will to the choices we makethumbs up thumbs up
The only free will we have is by reflecting on our actions so that the next time we act we've trained our instincts to act differently.

In the moment there is no free will: people who live solely in the moment have no free will - They are automatons. Everything we're about to do is decided before we do it by our instincts.
