The tower

There once was a village within a valley
with many people who gathered around
the town square and within the square
stood a tower built with everyones ideas and
points of view of how they saw and felt about
thier village.
As they all gathered among themselves each of them
had their particular story to tell
as they placed their hopes and dreams upon the altar
that surrounded the tower they made little wishes and prayers
that they would be understood in thier quest for love and understanding.
Everyday they would come together to share their thoughts
and often laughed and cried about thier hopes and dreams.
Yet thoughout the clamour and selective points of view
they all had one thing in common they continued to
come to the tower everyday and placed their grievances
their hopes and aspirations for love and understanding
of which the tower now became their solace and place of comfort.
Some even placed their complaints and questions for meaning in their lives.
Each of them seemed to attach themselves to their particular
comfort of who seemed to feed them what they thought they needed
for the day.
Now one day a stranger they never knew came wandering
into their village who had a different point of view.
He was tattered and forlorn as could be and his thoughts
and ways were often misunderstood.
He had little in common to the people in the village
they considered him different and not like the sheepfold
of the villagers.
As he saw the villagers congregating around the tower
he noticed the maidens of the village
giggling and laughing at times and other times they
were crying and wailing to the tower in hopes they could
find some relief to their pain and joy.
He also noticed the men folk likewise were sometimes serenading
to the maidens as well to the tower in hope that they could
somehow find what they are looking for.
The tattered old man found it quite unique to see such clamour
So he asked them what is it that they are seeking and what does this tower they built do for them?
Does it give you the love you seek? Does it fill your heart with joy?
Can it comfort you when you are cold and alone?
How does it work for you? Does it offer healing? Does it feed you and nourish you? Does this tower love you? Does it give you the love you seek? Now the people of the tower said to him who are you to question or judge us concerning our tower for we come here because it is for some all we have. Do you wish to join us and comply to it's beckoning or criticize it and our ways?
The forlorn man said, I come not to judge or criticize but, I just wonder where will your world be if it were suddenly taken away?
You are free to believe in this tower and all it offers with all good intent but, do consider that outside looking in it appears none of you know what you seek.
I wonder what message of hope are you looking for? why are you seemingly selective to a message you percieve which feeds and smooths your ego?
In all your politeness and platitudes of empty feeling does the tower you built give you the peace of mind and happiness or love you seek?
For what matters the most? the tower or the intent?
If the tower gives you what you think you might need then why if it is built by the emotions of those who built it do you reject and punish those who do not meet your approval? If your tower of promise and hope is for all who are heavy laden and burdened with emotional turmoil that all of you equally share, why do you tend to shun and place conditions and terms of endearment selectively appealing to some and pushng out others?
The villagers had no good explanation aside to say You poor and forlorn man if you do not approve of our tower why do you not build your own tower if you think you can offer better. Perhaps if you have a better way maybe others will give you consideration. Until then, put up or shut up.

Very good, The tower should be built on Respect...thumbs up
Hi ziuswave
nice...but i do understand why the villagers said put up or shut up.. the stranger asked too many questions, and sometimes you have to experience some things to know the answer for yourself.

Great blog..... I do agree with Itchy and her comments.
thumbs up thumbs up
The choice of being a sheep or a shepherd we all have to make.
one must ask themselves which will make them feel more comfortable.
I think you mean well with your blog zius and it is a lovely read and interesting too handshake but i dunno i must be reading it wrong, cos i'm lost with your meaning of sheep and shepard dunno
oh to be a genius in a world of idiots! the horror of it all...doh
OOOh the humanity... blues
What you fretting bout there bogart, aren't you safe within your bottle, where most little genies are roll eyes
giggle
I like the tower.... I like the wailing and crying. For sure it helps all to commiserate. For all there is joy to be found and maybe it is at this altar
Me too, i like the tower also...
i just don't understand the meaning of the sheep and shepard dunno in my books i'd see the importance is the gathering of the flock..without them there would be no need for a shepard and if they were no shepard, who would save A sheep that strayed confused
And the strangers in this world will keep on walking as no one will understand that they don't need a tower as they are the tower. That will mean they will have to take responsibility for their own lives and the ones around them. So much easier to stay sheep relying on the tower to make things better. doh
