WHAT IS MENTAL ILLINESS?
are we really that fragile as humans beings, we have managed to dominate the entire planet manipulate and learn things to get life to work in our favor.everything recorded in our history defines us as intelligent strong adaptable species that can over come many harsh conditions,
so what is it that causes some of us to become mentally ill?
some say it's the things that we indulge in that causes a chemical imbalances in the brain drugs, drinking even the things we watch on television .it may even be because of the things we experience in life childhood, abusive relationships, not being accepted feelings of being an outcast.
however if these things are the cause of mental illness don't you think the larger of the population would be mentally ill and most of the things in human history would not have been accomplished I believe we are to strong a species to allow the things we go through to determine our mental state.
some say mental illness is hereditary if it is well how many generations of people are on the planet, don't you think that the mentally ill would again out number the normal and that the population would not thrive as it has and the accomplishment as humans would be little to none.
is it our primitive selves is it our behavior before we separated ourselves from the other species of the earth that looms up and shows its ugly face.
or is it much more to this story is there really a god and his adversaries are there really living spirits that mean to do us harm, that are able to take over our minds and bodies and make us demented.

my one and only son was born 24/1/89 8.40 pm,
he suffers or should i say "used to suffer" anxiety atacks,

i agree with you somewhat there are mental condition that are just that, and then you have things like preditors that slaughter and do things that are not human nature.
i think when you torture and take the the life of another human being is more than a mental illness i think there unforeseen things into play
being mistreated as child with out positive intervention cause you to do things like achochol, drugs, bulling and other self destructive activities it doesn't turn you into a psychopath.

Sorry to hear about your husband...hope he is better...yes I think heredity is a factor involved...I too, have people in my family who suffers from depression and schizophrenia...
He did not know Who we were in the end.
That was the saddest thing.
Considering he had been such a good man.
Life goes on.
Sorry for your loss...he sounds like he had a form of dementia but he was so young when he died...once again sorry...

It is an interseting topic...mental illness and what possesses people to do harm...the scope of mental illness is vast and difficult to comprehend...
