I remember when I was growing up hearing my mum say when sharing with someone that may have sounded unbelievable...``May God, strike me down if I am lying`` I remember thinking, `Good job, I know mum doesn`t lie`.otherwise I would have lost her a few times over
I personally do not think you should swear on anyones life. I guess those that do must be pretty desperate to have someone believe them.
Maybe I have not ever been that desperate.. thankfully.

Seriously, I used to swear when I was a kid. As I get older, I don't do that anymore. I find it NOT necessary to swear on anything to convince others about the truth I said. I'd simply show them the proof if they doubted it. If they still don't believe it, it's their problem. If I don't have any proof, then I will say so. If later what I said was proven not true, I would apologize. Life is as simple as just that sometimes.. And I just try to not hurt anybody, esp. my beloved ones..
One either chooses to believe or they don't. If you trust said person and they have never given you just cause to doubt their word....then it is easy.
