Glory Be To God In The Highest!!!

Luke 2:8-20. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, 'Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.'
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

How are you hearing the good news of Jesus’ birth that the angel of the Lord announced to the shepherds?

In the Gospel writings of Luke chapter 2, He describes the strange events that happened after the birth of Christ—the angelic announcement of the birth. He informs his readers about shepherds living in the same country (or region), who were keeping their flock at night. The actual month and year of Christ’s birth are impossible to prove. Throughout the centuries, different Christian sects have given hundreds of suggestions for the date of His birth, to no avail. However, we do not need to speculate. One thing is certain: He was born of a virgin in Bethlehem of Judea according to Scriptures. That is sufficient.

The shepherds were the first to hear the Good News of the birth of the Savior; they were also the first to proclaim it to others. Their message was simple; they declared what the angels told them concerning the child, and what they had seen. Their message left the listeners with wonder and marvel. However, Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. All these things includes the story the shepherds told—the appearance of the angel and the heavenly host. This story adds to the chain of miraculous events regarding the Christ, which began with the initial visit of Gabriel announcing to Mary that she would be the mother of the Messiah. Hence, Mary preserved the words of the shepherds in her heart with all the strange things that had been taking place, and she meditated upon them as future events unfolded.

After visiting the newborn, and finding the child as the angels had told them, the Shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God. The object of their joyful praise is obvious-the long-expected Messiah is born and they have been witnesses. The birth of a Redeemer brings joy and peace to those who accept Him. Here the shepherds accepted the good tidings. Therefore, they praised and worshiped the Lord, and proclaimed to others the wonders of God’s dealing with mankind. Like the shepherds, we are called to declare the birth of the Savior and His purpose to the world.

Christ was born to bring peace and redemption. This event occurred over two thousand years ago, but it is still as relevant today as it was then.

Jesus Christ came that we might have peace, He suffered that we might be healed, and He died that we might live. That is the message of Christmas.

LET EVERYTHING THAT HAS BREATH PRAISE THE LORD FOR HE ALONE IS WORTHY!

Wonderful sentiments.....

Q. At what time of the year (or season) would shepherds be out in the fields with their flocks (during the night)?
A. Not in December. Shepherds were only out in the fields at night with their flocks during the lambing season. You should check out what season (time of year) lambing occurs in that part of the world.... There is no reason to speculate. The fact that shepherds were in the field with their flocks at night clearly indicates when Jesus was born (during the lambing season).

Q. Modern Christianity always portrays the angels singing at this particular time. What were they actually doing?
A. They were speaking, not singing. Saying their praises of God.

Q. When did the "wise men" appear on the scene?
A. When Jesus was born, it was the shepherds that went to see him at the time of his birth. The wise men appeared approximately 2 years afterwards. Hence why Herod ordered or male children 2 years and under be killed.

It is important at this time of year that the adaptation of the birth of Jesus to coincide with the pagan celebrations of the winter solstice (including the tree, and other such things) be seen to be misleading people and not showing the truths for what they are.
Now that's a Christmas celebration.

Free of commercialism, lights all over the place, no glittering tree! It was a truly beautiful night.
Hi Sista, I want to wish you a beautiful HAPPY Christmas.. Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ into the world.
I love it that as Christians we can unitedly come together throughout the world and join in this most sacred of events. I personally do not believe this is His literal birthday... But it is the day chosen for us to as a world worship our Saviour as a babe in a manger and to be grateful for His life and teachings... And indeed all he has done for mankind.
This event along with Easter are the 2greatest events in the history of mankind.

God Bless you to be filled with the love He brought down that first Christmas night so long ago heart wings hug
