once you start moving around -

My job moves me all round the world, I tell the agency yes, anywhere, just leave me time between jobs to see my sons (grown up, own lives) and catch up. Some people who talk me on messages find that strange, ask when I want to settle down. I like having same place to always go back to between jobs, but happy to leave again.

I left my home country when I was 20 to get married, never went back. Never felt since that anywhere was Home because where I am is home.

Do you live still where you were born, or also a rolling stone? Interested to hear if you find same as me.

Not such a rolling stone, but yes I uprooted. Yesterday is gone, today is transient, what will tomorrow bring? Shallow roots.

Where I hang my hat (and put my books, and the pet beds) is home but I couldn't live as you do! cheers
I left my home country when I was 24, lived 3 years in England, 2 in Australia, 11 in US, then 9 back in Ireland and now back in US for 1
home is where your happy and with a special lady it could be anywhere
Dear CanaryBlue, I left home at an early age and did more than my share of seeing the world. I now reside in paradise or as close to it as I ever could find . I no longer call home the place where I hang my hat as I finally have all that I can ever want here ( well within reason ) .

PS: I will be back in the not too distant future to spin a few " yarns " and raise a few smiles as well .cheers
I hate it. dunno

I had a lovely place and still go home and see my family a lot and really miss having my stuff and a home. That will hopefully change soon. conversing
I once dated this woman that went berserk trying to change me. I replied, "I'm a rolling stone". She really flipped. I left, didn't look back and she tried and tried to get me back. I'm the kind of guy that makes no second chance returns.

Now to answer you. I left home at 17, I moved back when I was 50 and I left again. When I had a career I rarely went anywhere. When I finally got sick and tired of being sick and tired I went all over the U. S. working here and there!

My children are now grown and I have Grand Children. So I have planted myself "kinda" permanent. Yeah, I feel like I'm home now!
Ohhh..(:)

I left my home at 6 years old. Since then I'm in europe like a ping-pong ball.

6 years in UK as a child, 13 years in Italy,
6 years in France, back to UK for 8 years, back to Italy for 5 years and back to france in 2011.

But yes always miss a place that we was born & family
I left uk for good in 2013...never to return.
I left my country 13 years ago,and will not returned.wine
I had a job like that once upon a time. Bounced me all over the country, occasionally to other places too. One day I found a spot I liked, gave up the job and have stayed.
I am very happy to see that there are many of us here - sometimes I see people on the polls saying oh, someone is too far away, they could never move and I think why, am I strange?

Yes we all like to have a place that is special to us and if it is very special, so special we want to stay, that is wonderful.
