I just had the text until the picture appeared.
So l sent an email. I can tell you the 2 words above
The 1000 are At CLIAT. Sorry about punctuation
(0r lack 0f). ATH CLIATH (pronounced AW CLEE -AH )
IS THE IRISH NAME OF DUBLIN
I hope that is what you need
On the coin itself above the 1000 is a coat of arms
I would not have any information on that
Sean
Celtic must be a difficult language, but the Celts are said to have had no writing.
So is this writing above the 1000 something new and modern or ancient words and writing?
Esp. the T looks interesting to me.
THE DOTS ON THE T' S ARE THERE AS THE SIGN
THAT THE H FOLLOWS. AT BECOMES ATH
IN MODERN IRISH YOU WILL SEE A FADA
A BIT LIKE A HIFEN THAT MAKES THE VOWEL
LONGER
FADA ACTUALLY MEANS LONG IN IRISH.
IF I WAS HANDY I WOULD PRINT THE LETTERS
AS THEY APPEAR
I HOPE YOU GET WHAT I AM TELLING YOU
ANYWAY
SEAN
there have been connections between the Celts and Ancient Greece, that's why I wonder if this T is old or just a new invention...
